Apparently so. It was his wife giving birth though, not him. A couple of years ago two or three Irish players pulled out of the international squad for the same reasons and Trappatoni didn't include them in the next squad. He said he couldn't understand it as where he came from "the women have babies, not the men". The liberal pinky press went to town on him but I think he was dead right. Its Vargas' job that provides his wife and kids with a comfortable life. He should realise how lucky he is to have such a profession. Its a bit of a joke to be honest.
