I'm certainly happy with the 2 signings made so far and Big Sam is saying the right things and I honestly believe we won't be sitting there at Upton Park with stiff necks, I think the football played in the forthcomeing season will be a bit of a mixture. We seem to be linked with some decent players who have the potential to crack it in the Premiership, Gradel was very popular at Leeds last season and Mackail-Smith shows the determination to get the damn ball int he net. So hopefully we can see them plying their trade at UP. With all the hype recently I'm curious if you think we should be favourites for the Championship title? Personally I'm not inclined to say we are favourites just yet as we do not seem to have enough defenders but maybe once we actually sign some then I will agree, but who would be available? Off the top of my head the recognised defenders we have are Tomkins, Faye and Spence (Faubert and Spector debatably can cover). Da Costa, Upson, Gabbidon, Jacobsen, Bridge have left and Ilunga appears to be on his way also. So we could do with a lot of defenders coming in. In the other positions it's looking good, plus for a lot of the yournger lads coming through it will be good for them. The likes of Nouble, Stanislas, Sears and Hines (is he still there?) should benefit from the drop down and seem to have the pace to beat most in the league and with some good performances from them to get their confidence up and they could look to threaten anyone in the league.
Forgot the mighty Winston Reid (pffft) - "one day he'll come good". Also read that Spector, Gabbidon and Hines are out of contract but in dicussions to get signed up again.
Don't bank on getting Gradel. The only rumour you've heard that has any truth to it is that you're going to make a bid, which will most likely be rejected.
Agreed and they're in for a shock and will be a lot of clubs big scalp as the supposed so-called big club.
I know, it's sad . And I resent that you say that they are the "big" club in the division. Leeds are easily the biggest club in that league.
Never mind Marko we can thank King Kenny for that. I meant so-called as they will think their the biggest club in this league and so turning up next season thinking that they've only got to turn up.
well I'll let you off then. If they think they're the biggest club in the league they got a shocker in store. Especially when we show up at that ****hole they call a stadium on 20th August. Bet we batter them
Oh so you have the chance to beat them before us. Shammers v Weeds splinters there for us. Shammers Weeds, Shammers Weeds, Shammers Weeds would rather see you win to be honest can't believe I just said that.
I'm confident their spending will backfire and their primadonnas will just think they can show up to matches and win automatically. 2 from Becchio and 1 from Gradel. A goal from Gradel will be a perfect way to remind their fans how stupid they were to actually think they could get Gradel.
undoubtedly their spending will backfire but typical of the shammers they still refuse to live within their means as I have said on here many times before. They'll turn up thinking like that and be in for a very rude awakening from a lot of teams.
Not banking on Gradel for a big club like us we won't need to bank on anyone :S Still, am looking forward to the games with your lot and don't you worry we'd be stupid if we were not to expect a tough time.
