    A lot easier nowadays. Billy Wright, the first to do so, played every minute of every game, no caps for a few minutes then. Far less opportunities to get a cap then as far less qualifying matches and friendlies.

    I was a bit surprised when they said that there was an average of 10 games a season years ago and now it's only 12 games. There's still more opportunity to get a cap now (if you are not Curtis Davies) given the substitutes and desire to "have a look" at nearly anybody English.
