Ok, I think the question to #askcrofty should be: When are you going to **** off back to local radio you third-rate Partridge?

I do find David Croft a bit OTT but it does make me laugh that a lot of people were begging for him to do the BBC coverage commentary instead of Jonathan Legard a few years ago.

Really? It wasn't me, honest :) I once suffered his 5Live radio commentary, years ago, all the way up the M11. He kept shouting, "You Can-NOT take your EYES off Formula 1 RIGHT NOW!!!!", and I wanted to throttle him.

It's because we all thought it couldn't get worse than Legard!

    Oh how wrong we were!

What are the general view on Ben Edwards? I think he's okay, but he's got the wrong partner as I think Coulthard is too dour.

Ben Edwards and Brundle would be the best pairing in my opinion, though I was a fan of Brundle/Coulthard (gone too soon :( )

Re the race. Two outcomes I'd welcome:

    1) Rosberg takes out Hamilton and himself at the first corner and the race becomes a damp squib.
    2) Hamilton wins and Rosberg out of the points thus giving Hamilton a 67 point margin.

The reason meaning the double points farce is rendered utterly pointless and must not be considered ever again.

On the other hand, if the double points farce does make a difference then the 2014 championship will always be dismissed as the one that was a farce because of the double points... if you see what I mean.

Bernie's only hope is that his idea doesn't make any difference, which only goes to show what a stupid idea it was in the first place.

If double points do hand the Championship to Rosberg (which doesn't happen if Hamilton finishes below 6th I believe) then F1 will look the absolute farce that it is at present, which may be a good thing and force Bernie getting the boot. (One can only hope)

I'll actually feel sorry for Rosberg a bit if it's double points that give him the title as it will always be a bit false. If Rosberg wins the title, he's got to do it with Hamilton out of a position that would have otherwise given Hamilton the title.

Even if he does win and Hamilton retires for whatever reason, everyone will still say he's the luckiest champion ever because he was against Hamilton in the title fight.
The fact that Rosberg has lost more points through Mechanical issues says a lot about people.

    32 in Britain - Lost 25, Hamilton gained 7
    18 in Singapore
    7 in Canada

Hamilton has lost 18 minimum (possible 32 but it was too early to say who'd have won) in Australia
    18 in Canada

So by my calculations, that's 57 Rosberg, and either 36 or 50 Hamilton.

Even if Hamilton wins it... people will moan, so I guess we're **** out of luck either way.

No different to any other season. Best car usually wins, so you could argue all are plastic. So no more plastic than any other really.

At least they haven't tried to stage races. The racing between them has been genuine.

I've enjoyed this season more than last myself. Once Horner had succeeded in getting the tyres changed, it was an utterly predictable one-horse championship. Even plastic has more life than that had.

And Ron, yeah, I almost fell asleep there.
