Does anyone know if they will be commentating on our games this coming season.Got told that they wont be i knew they have stopped the rugby.
I was going to say I hope they have but I dont listen to it as the adverts do my head in and I majorly dislike Alex burgess the jumped up photocopier salesman.
I got fed up of never being able to get the match day commentary so I took advice from lots of people on here and bought Player. It's Blunderside but at least it's reliable.
Where I live (Norfolk) I can't get Radio Humberside, and if Radio 5 Live isn't carrying the game, I have to rely on BBC text feed. I just became aware of this: http://www.radioplayer.co.uk/ Hoping it's going to be a help!
funny that because my impression is that alex burgress is the only decent local football commentator.
Thought Alex Burgess was a top city bloke and made a good team with Burnsey a while ago on RH. Disappointed he left to go to Kcfm which has now become pants and Swanny joined RH.
Don't think that will help. Will be like using bbc iplayer which is no use commentaries are restricted to FM or AM and you can't get it online.
When i'm at home and not at work i'll tune into blunderside which does deliver a good commentary when Burnsy and Swanny aren't wondering off topic. I'll usually switch off by the phone in as i can't stand some of the muppets they have on there sometimes. 5 live is usually as good as i can get when i'm at uni, it's served me well for 2 years and they'll come to our game if a goal or something significant happens.
If you can spare the £4 a month, Tigers Player is well worth the money. Live radio commentary and you can watch the full match a few days after.
I used this for a while here in Oz but the commentary is absolutely woeful. Two blokes talking to each other about anything but the game with the occasional "..and it's a throw in to Hull City on the far side...". I now use the ESPN "Live Score" gamecast 'text' commentary which is far better for mine. At least we will get a couple of games on 'live' TV and the Championship Highlights every Tuesday.
You CAN get Humberside online on Radioplayer. That's why I posted the fact. The range of stations is increasing all the time - it's a co-operative effort between the BBC and commercial radio. [Edit @ 06.30: I can listen to Blunderside commentary here in Norfolk!]
I personally like mike White on blunderside as generally allow swanky to butt on too much and stays on the match commentary well.
