Hi 23 so sorry to hear your problem too it's awful when you do the right thing & get ****ed over. How many times do we hear in the media of good hard working honest people in this situation whilst others get away with murder. The wife's now home, blood tests came back clear they think it's muscular rather than coronary. Shut myself in the bedroom after the kids were in bed to have a good long cry, just had to get it out. Just honestly I don't know how much more I can deal with.
You know I've come to the conclusion that comparing the main parties labour, conservation, libdem and I'll include Ukip it's just like talking about different types of turd. At the end of the day you wouldn't be happy stepping in dog, horse, cow or Fox ****. I don't want to get into it now because I just don't have the energy but we need a complete change of power, a people's parliament, ban on career politicians. I'd spin off the NHS as a not for profit company solely owned by the government run by Dr's and stakeholders. Keep the private sector out of the NHS entirely. It's worked perfectly for the at arms length company running the east coast mainline. Scrap all the bullshit of NHS trusts, one set of managers for each country and centralise buying. It's already been done schools use bulk purchasing organisations like ESPO to buy stock so it can be done and would end the post code lottery too
For all it's faults we have the best healthcare system in the world and crucially it is free at the point of need and open to everyone. No single political party can lay claim to the NHS as it belongs to us and no government will dare to change the founding principles of the wonderful service that we all rely on. I am truly sorry Rich for all the travails you have been through and all I can do is wish you well for the future.
Agreed it is the best and needs to be protected from political meddling same as education tbh. Sad thing is my wife's aunts treatment was appalling. In for broken arm discharged, back in that night 2 days later discharged despite showing clear signs of a heart attack and pneumonia, 3 hours after discharge 999 called paramedics said I can't believe anyone in this condition was discharged. The day she'd been dressed and made to walk length of ward to day room as they wanted her bed she had a huge heart attack and died, she was not put on a monitor. Two days ago the consultant wrote to us admitting several massive mistakes. Putting her on a drip missing the vein and blowing her arm up like popeyes only noticed after family said that's not right. Put on gtn infusion without a heart monitor Given iv morphine then left with no monitor had a relative not been present to raise the alarm they'd not have known she'd died for 30 mins (admitted by nurse) Forgot to give her warfarin after having stents fitted Managed to miss a heart defect that was detectable via ultrasound, ecg and angiogram all of which she had in hospital and beforehand as outpatient under cardiology. She was moved 3 times whilst in due to. Bed shortages, kicked out of coronary unit to discharge ward, because there was no social care available couldn't be discharged and they said you can't stay here as it's a 24 hour stay limit. Despite being a coronary patient she died on a general medical geriatric ward. So now we've got lawyers involved. That plus my case and I've use been told of a friends family member who has bladder cancer and told he needs 6 weeks treatment but the trust can't afford it so he's getting treatment weeks 1 & 2 then 5 & 6 despite it drastically reducing his odds of survival Just staggers me every case I hear and breaks my heart I know there are more success stories than failures but the failures hurt don't they
I have to admit that Clement Attlee was one of the greatest Prime Ministers of modern times and definitely the greatest ever Labour Prime Minister. I dont know why the Electorate only gave him one full term in office.
Through the official club website, pay about a fiver a month but figure it's worth it as I'm struggling to get to many games this season with family commitments and all that.
Because the lying Tory bastards pulled his government to bits for ongoing austerity after the war.To be fair Churchill and MacMillan were decent people compared to what came along in '79.
Got called next door tonight the mother in law was out of it completely unresponsive barely breathing etc. The wife's had to cut her clothes off and start cpr, I drove like a nutter for the defib up the road, paramedics had arrived by time I got there. Struggled to get her out as Hall too narrow for stretcher etc so had to help paramedics intubating and also carrying her, then carry all their equipment down the hill. They worked on her for a long long time to get her going again was about 9pm the left for A&E at just after 11pm. The mil is still with us at present, don't know if she's conscious or not but she's still alive her blood gases are good and her skin colour was good when she left. Am in so much pain from sprinting and carrying where I wouldn't normally. Just sat at home with the kids now waiting to hear. My poor wife we only buried her aunt last week frater suffering a fatal heart attack her mum's sister. I just don't know what to do now I'm sitting here and I don't know what to do, what to think etc. Wed just got all the Christmas decorations down and been putting them up this evening.
Rich - what a dreadful thing to happen at any time of year, but so near Xmas which should be a happy family occasion, makes it even worse. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
