My it has been quiet in here today. Maybe it is time to re-introduce some tasty seasonal snacks. I do enjoy onion soup with a good layer of cheese melted over the top of it, with some crusty fresh French bread to dip into it. If that is possible landlord I promise to sweep up my bread crumbs before I leave.
Some of us like the quiet so if you could keep down the noise from that crusty bread it would be appreciated. Dunk first, then bite, please. Thank you.
French bread is designed to be broken in the fingers, then dunk or wipe the sauce from your plate with it. Crumbs are inevitable.
Morning all from a crisp but bright central London - just looking on the ticket website for the Derby game and it seems like we'll be in for another big crowd. Must admit that whilst there is a sense of trepidation I can't wait for Saturday now. The international breaks seem to go on for ever!
Morning all especially our new Mod, your doing a grand job Dan. As for Saturday I too am looking forward to the match, just hope Abdi is fit. Did you notice last year we started losing after a great start from the time he got injured and this season it seems like history repeating itself. Thanks for the coffee AK

Morning all, bright and sunny in rural France and the meteo are suggesting the temperatures will be about 18°C over the next few days. French football is in a mess! Marseille have had directors of the club arrested over alleged taking of back handers in transfer dealings. Not the first time the club has been in trouble as back in 1994 they were relegated over similar events. Nine directors of Nimes and Caen were also arrested this week over alleged match fixing. Investigations into other games played by Nimes are also taking place. A draw between the two sides at the end of last season meant that Caen were promoted to Ligue 1 and Nimes retained their place in Ligue 2. Luzenac who were denied entry into Ligue 2 still have a legal challenge to that decision before the courts, while Valenciennes, Lens and Le Havre have money problems as investors have failed to come up with promised funds. With Ligue 2 attendances of only 5-6,000, the game is in a far from healthy state.
Evening all from Jersey - must admit that it was hotter in Tunisia. The football I managed to catch there on the TV in the hotel room was France v Albania on TF1, plus various African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
With respect, Ak, I've been waiting for service for some bloody time! I can see you're busy with all these silly-arse crappocinos, lartay (what in the name of Graham Taylor is that anyway?) I'm hearing orders for half this and half that, I don't like the milk in my tea to be anything other than tepid... Cinnamon in a drink? Do me a favour!! Marshmallows?? All I want is a decent strong cup of Rosie. I know full well that these days I should be asking for mocca-chocca-cafe-lartay with a dash of rosewater topped with Opal Fruits, a poached egg and a rasher of bacon or some bloody thing, but whatever happened to a decent cup of Rosie Lee? That was directed against your fussy clientele, Ak, not you. In fact, if you don't mind I'll address them... <clears throat> Oi! Oi! SORT YOURSELVES ART YOU BUNCH OF MAPPETS!! NO MORE SILLY , BLEEDIN' REQUESTS. AK'S RUNNIN' RARND LIKE A BLUE-ARSED ONE, HERE!!! IF YOU WANT A BIT OF CARAMEL OR CHOCLIT OR SUNNINK, BUY IT FROM A NEWSAGENTS AND GIVE AK A CHANCE TO SERVE DECENT BRITISH HARD WORKERS, LIKE WHAT I AM, A CUP OF DECENT BRITISH... OR, AT A STRETCH, ICELANDIC... CUP OF CHAR Thank you, ak. I'll be in the snug if you could bring it over. Atcherly, all that shouting has made me thirsty. Could you bung me a low-cal, caffeine-free, diet Pepsi, not Coke, with a bendy straw - yeller if you've got one. Ta.
Give him the pickled sheep's penis to go with it, Ak (I'm sure you must have some left). That will shut him up.
Beautiful late Spring evening here. The sun is setting behind the hills, lighting up the city. Time for a beer in the garden, watching the sun set.
Morning all, looks like another fine day in store. Off for the morning cleaning up old oak beams that are filthy. My box is cleared atr.
