Bayern Muncih weren't better than Monchengladbach then. Why? Because if they were, they'd have been in it. That's like saying Chelsea were better than you this season having finished second BEHIND you.

UIR is young,He's making comments that haven't any fact, because he's grown up in the ''Sky Generation'' that still think modern football began in 1992.

Bayern Munich were 3 time EC winners during the times Monchengladback won the league.

You could easily say bayern were better and vice versa. On the whole Bayern are a better team and always have been.

Simply bobs success to years ratio is better than Fergies, he took far less time to bring that level of success

Yeah, but I refer to the specific seasons that they weren't in it. What you've said about Bayern being 3 times champions only reinforces the point that Monchengladbach were a good team to have finished above them.

football was modernised in 1992 yes, it was taken from the violence filled joke it had become in the 70's and 80's into a vastly more professional game.

All my comments/opinions are also well backed up. More than I can say for others though.

Im neither young or old btw.

Or that Bayern were more focussed on winning the EC?

Where did Bayern finish in those seasons? Any idea?

U1R's football knowledge only goes back to 1991, like most other mancs. So when he scratches his head at names like Ajax, Roma, Benfica, PSG, Hamburg and AC Milan, we should pity his feeble knowledge, and point out that even Preston North End was a great team once, and that the European Cup was originally set up, as Wolverhampton Wanderers were being called the best club team in the world, as they were winning every last European friendly they played, and the Frenchies didn't like it one bit.

all 3 are very much accurate.

Nani would be the best player in Italy. I assume you still think its the 90s and Serie A is great.....its not, and the league is horrific.

If you or anyone doubts fergies standing in the game then football just isnt the sport for you.

Sir Alex was handicapped in Europe initially by the ban which meant that English teams couldn't compete in Europe and the English game was behind the foreign leagues once the ban was lifted (it would have taken several years for the English league to catch up), and then by that stupid foreigner rule.

In 1969/70 and 70/71 Bayern finished second behind Monchen.

    UIR.
    Now thats an uneducated comment.
Firslty I don't think a large amount of current footballers would have survived back then, and in some ways the footballers back then wouldn't survive now.
There is a big difference in the money too.
I'll list reasons why footballers wouldn't survive in either era.
Back then, football was a ''contact sport''.
On the other side, footballers are now health conscious athletes.Back then, players could smoke like chimneys and murder pints and play football, now its all healthy living.Even up until the late 90s,footballers were having the sneaky *** every so often.Vialli smoked cigars on a regular basis.Even ''Two bob Teddy'' was keen on the benson and hedges every so often.
