    Hi all

For those that know I have complex health problems which the NHS have completely failed to deal with. I now have a couple of diagnosis

Fibromyalgia - which basically means unexplained pain everywhere altho may present in some places more than others

Functional Neurological disorder - Which means you have all kind of weird neurological symptoms that they don't know the cause

I have a brain scan due in Dec, 4th appt at pain clinic in dece (im hoping the 4th appt might be treatment). My Drs won't prescribe me painkillers so my avg level of pain on scale of one to 10 is 7 with spikes to 9. Had psych assessment this week got to go to Hellesdon in Dec for second assessment with psychiatrist for treatment.

Well on top of that my wife's aunt fell and broke her arm in Oct, went to hospital was discharged with care at home, social worker turned up said she can't stand on her own back to hospital, went back in complained of chest pain and shortness of breath nurse did nothing (aunt had heart problems in her notes and had GTN) discharged the next day, 3 hours later paramedics called they rushed her back in said she'd had 2 heart attacks and had pneumonia - which she was discharged from hospital with.

Anyway she was moved round the hospital like no ones business due to shortage of beds and the day she was due to come home again she dropped dead in the day room. hospital spent an hour trying to save her but no good.

Few days later letter arrives from hospital admitting several cock ups so it's now going to solicitor.

So been dealing with that and today my wife said she'd been up all night with chest pain, gp wouldn't see her till 5pm so called 111, 8 mins later ambulance and paramedic arrived together, her ecg was ok but they've taken her in for tests.

Am now beside myself worrying about her, the kids, me etc and don't know who to turn to next. Anyway sorry this isn't football related I just wanted to get it off my chest and didn't know where else to go

That is one long, (ongoing, sadly) catalogue of pain, anguish and grief, Rich.
Not to mention sheer f**king incompetence on behalf of the NHS.
I really wish there was more I could do to help. If there is, I'm only 12 miles along the coast, give me a shout. Hope things get better for you - hell's teeth, they can't get any worse, surely?

Sorry to hear about all your problems and the NHS being a farce, all the best.

I may have completely imagined this, so my sincere apologies if I'm chatting rubbish, but I'm glad to hear you're back and strong with your wife so that's a major positive that you can be proud of <ok>

Rich 44 - No, you're right to vent your feelings and whilst the NHS does do an excellent job in providing care for the majority, there are always some for whatever reason 'slip through the net'. I know one of the biggest problems is that when NNUH was designed (I'm assuming that's your local main hospital), the planners got their forecast of population growth horribly wrong and so it is now too small to meet the needs of the local population and of course people are living longer and adding to the burden. At the other end of the scale, I know of a lady last week who had a baby and had to stay in delivery, as there were no beds on the maternity ward (some couples must have been quite 'active' around Valentine's Day this year - lol).

It's going to be huge talking point in the run up to the election and it needs BILLIONS to put right.

Agree totally about the hospital size. If you're ever passing the new Peterborough hospital is bloody amazing.

The maternity thing happens all the time, when wide was in they stuck her in disused Bay in Blakeney ward (maternity) then forgot about her no food, no drinks, no care, no buzzers etc

I'd be careful with that sort of slip, I'm assuming you meant wife! My other half would not be especially happy to be refered to as wide!

I keep hearing more and more bad things about the care in the nhs, as some have said part is to many chiefs not enough indians. That and the aging and sick population, wthere is definitely trouble ahead.

Hope your next round of checks can yield some way forward and that her indoors is OK

    Bah!

Hope you're doing ok Rich mate, it's actually good to hear from you at least (despite the fact you don't bring good news) as I was thinking to myself just the other day how I'd not seen you on here in a while and I was hoping everything was ok with you.

Re: the NHS, the Tories will love all this, gives more power to their elbow with regards the privatisation of all our healthcare which will surely commence within the next five years should they creep over the line in the election next year. My big fear is a Tory/UKIP coallition in which case it may well be time to emigrate to anywhere that will take me <yikes>

Well Munky, thanks to Lib/Lab/Con, 1 in every 30 Latvians and Lithuanians, 1 in every 60 Poles, 1 in every 80 Slovakians, 1 in every 140 Estonians, 1 in every 200 Hungarians, 1 in every 250 Czechs and 1 in every 1000 Slovenians now reside here and they're the official figures so it's probably a damn sight more. I would therefore suggest that you'd have no trouble getting a place in Eastern Europe ! ;)

I am sick of this country they happily let in Romanian pick pocket gangs and pimps reduce normal people's wages by opening the floodgates but won't let my well spoken well educated wealthy good looking wife in so I have chosen to move to China next week.
I have good health insurance and feel I will have a better life out there.
I was made redundant and now my old company is staffed by 80% overseas staff , I was on £30k 5 years ago and the migrants are on £18k and they wonder why arseholes like Farage are gaining popularity.
My mum is in Spain and I don't see me sticking around in the UK anymore.

Ps Rich it sounds a nightmare and if getting it off your chest helps I am happy you have this place ad an outlet mate.
    Chin up .

I thought if you were married she automatically gets to live here 23? You should get legal advice if you change your mind about China

Does that mean the end of you on here then 23 - or am I being ignorant about the level of internet accessibility in China?

The inconvenient truth is that Andy Burnham when Health Secretary in the last Labour Government began the process of privatising certain health services in the NHS! Under the last government PFI projects accelerated at a huge pace and there are many NHS trusts facing huge debts as a result. On Andy Burnhams watch major hospital scandals such as Mid Staffs were going on but hey why let facts get in the way of a good scare story! What the country will be afraid of is if Milliband and his motley crew ever get into power! That will be the time to emigrate!<ok>

I need to be working and earning over £24k we were waiting for her to finish an English IELTS home office approved qualification before applying for a spouse visa that she was studying for on her days off in Dubai.
I got canned in June her course ended July and living apart nearly killed our marriage.
She was so upset she quit her well paid job in the UAE and went back to China, I was gutted and had to move out of my flat after my pay off ran out.
We have decided to try a life together in Wuhan instead , I feel very let down by my country they let the scum of the earth come here and exploit us but stop good well educated people entering.
    Absolute piss take.

Hence why NNUH is struggling with huge debt repayments and have been unable to re-negotiate terms since the lowering of mortgage rates!!!
