What a bastard has anyone got this. I've got it and I had it really bad last night I couldn't get any sleep and my upper half of the body was tired but my legs felt as though I could run a marathon and had the weird pain sensation.

    I'm shattered now

Don't worry, it's normal. It's called growing pains. Most eleven year olds get them.

It's not it's a genuine condition. I have to move my legs all of the time to relieve the sensations. I'm nearly 27.

My Grandad suffers from it, he's got two false legs and real feet.

Get to the gym and do some squats, deadlifts, box jumps, weighted lunges and then get on a treadmill and smash a 15 minute incline HIIT.

You'll have a whole different kind of pain to deal with but your legs will not feel restless!

In all seriousness mate, I get it as well albeit very rarely and for no longer than a few minutes, it's a symptom of Hypothyroidism, get your Thyroid checked out, quick blood test takes a day or two for the results.

Didn;t know that! I don;t suffer from the restless legs but I do have hypothyroidism (along with Diabetes which, over the last few weeks, has been a right t**t!). I'll keep a "lookout" for the legs - although I'm a breast man myself (which is a good job as my wife is 5' 0" with Double F's!! (and yes I am bragging!)

I have subclinical Hypothyroidism mate, so I don't really suffer too much from the symptoms of it. Weight gain is one apparently that I do suffer from but I don't have trouble with weight because I train almost every day. Maybe when I'm old and don't care any more I'll just get fat, or I'll take the meds, whatever.

    5ft zip and FF's - winning. <ok>

I defo look for leg and arse on a girl nowadays (looking is all I do sadly), can't beat a good set of pins with a pair of cherries on top.

Unless we're talking about poultry, in which case I'm all about the white meat!

She's got a lovely pair of legs too mate - just they're not exactly "long" her being only 5'! 34FF-26-34 - good in all books IMO and she's 10 years younger than me as well!!! (I'm a lucky lad!)

Yeah my Mrs is 6 years younger than I am, I think I prefer a bit of an age gap. Although I find myself explaining a lot of things to her that I'd expect her to find fairly easy to understand!

How's the new house by the way you all settled in and that now?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Restless_legs_syndrome

Restless legs syndrome (RLS) also known as Willis-Ekbom disease (WED)[1] or Wittmaack-Ekbom syndrome, is a neurological disorder characterized by an irresistible urge to move one's body to stop uncomfortable or odd sensations.[2] It most commonly affects the legs, but can affect the arms, torso, head, and even phantom limbs.[3] Moving the affected body part modulates the sensations, providing temporary relief.

RLS sensations range from pain or an aching in the muscles, to "an itch you can't scratch", an unpleasant "tickle that won't stop", or even a "crawling" feeling. The sensations typically begin or intensify during quiet wakefulness, such as when relaxing, reading, studying, or trying to sleep.[4] Additionally, most individuals with RLS suffer from periodic limb movement disorder (limbs jerking during sleep), which is an objective physiologic marker of the disorder and is associated with sleep disruption.[5] It can be caused by low iron levels.[6]

Treatment is often with levodopa or a dopamine agonist such as pramipexole.[6] Some controversy surrounds the marketing of drug treatments for RLS. It is a "spectrum" disease with some people experiencing only a minor annoyance and others having major disruption of sleep and impairments in quality of life.[7]

Yeah mate spot on now. Loving actually having our own place where I don;t need to get on the phone if I want to put up a picture or redecorate the bedroom! Nice quiet area as well although, having moved from a new build into a 1930's house, it's a lot harder to heat than the last place was but hey ho!

My Mrs. gets this about once every six weeks or so. It really does my head in. Every 30 seconds or so she moves her legs as I.f she's starting a motor bike. Bloody annoying, just dropping off to sleep and she starts for hours at a time. More often than not I wake her up and tell her to go in the spare room.
