At the very least we need to have a core of players who'll play the majority of matches so the spine of our team is relatively constant - and there's the problem, because Lloris is currently the only player who is really deserving of this.

A large part of the problem is that it was self inflicted last summer by whichever one of AVB or Baldini you prefer to blame, as we had too many players expecting to play games so we had to keep chopping and changing to keep everyone happy, which didn't work out at all well - and we could still do worse than cut a few more, notably Paulinho and BAE.

Don't call us that name. We are Hull city afc, and we're working hard to keep our name. If you care about the history and heritage of English football, then our fight should matter to you too.

Although i expect you were just having a cheeky dig so fair play <ok>

Still think white suited Dawson better though <laugh>

Clubs in the past have moved away from their home, changed their shirt colours and it's common practice to change your badge every so often. I wouldn't be surprised if clubs changed their names a few times in the past 60 years too. I get why Hull fans don't want it but I do think Allam has a point too, he's put an awful lot of money into the club and if there is a way he sees to keep help keep you successful then I don't think it should be dismissed out of hand.

Only crappy clubs changed their name repeatedly and then move all over the place.
We've seen where that particular brand of madness ends up. <cough> dialsquareroyalwoolwicharsenal <cough>

He loaned the club all that money, and at 5%. He's put the money in, and if everything had gone to plan,he would have made a tidy profit. Unfortunately for Assem, the Hull city council refused to give him the KC and the land around it,and ever since then he's held a grudge against them and bizarrely HCAFC fans.

He continues to invest in players, because he knows if we're relegated, his investment has gone forever. He lies so freely,i'm surprised VIZ haven't based a character on him.

I know it wasn't an alturistic investment from Allam, I was just saying that you share the same interest in progressing the club and he's backing it up with his actions. Not all owners do that and fewer to the extent Allam has. Maybe he's wrong on the name change, I just personally don't think it's quite as big of a deal as it's made out as. I'm sure Cardiff fans wouldn't be complaining about their heritage as the Bluebirds being totally sidelined if their owner wasn't a megalomaniac that does more harm than good.

My only visit to Hull was to see Spurs play Leeds.I think Revie and his dirty Leeds of that time were in trouble again.
Leeds had so many great players at that time, why they played dirty and used a lot of gamesmanship I'll never know.
That was why they were always disliked and nearly always runners up!
    Enjoyed the visit!

I believe that we have a fantastic 0% record for games under his command, as our 1-0 loss away to Norwich in which Sherwood's side drew their first blank was the only one.
Utterly awful performance by the team, IIRC, but I don't think that Pawson did much wrong. Can't remember him pissing me off, anyway! <laugh>

Sutton United played that leeds team in the FA cup in 1970,Leeds won 6-0,but Sutton's John Faulkner kept Mick Jones, the Leeds Forward so quite,Revie bought him.In his first game for them,he scored an own goal, then broke is knee!.when he recovered he was sold to Luton,he done quite well with them

Aaron Lennon and Kyle Walker are in the training pictures from today. I doubt that both will be available, though.

I think we all reminisce past games. The one that gives me fit is the 1962 game v Benfica in the European Cup Semi Final return. We won 2-1 but lost 3-4 on goals home and away.
We did everything but hit 'em with the kitchen sink but couldn't get that 3rd goal.
I still believe if we'd got the third,we'd gone on to win and beat the ageing Real Madrid in the final. But it wasn't to be!

Losing Walker really hurt. I hope he's back to full fitness soon. It's starting to remind me a little of Sandro getting injured. Not only was losing Sandro bad, it had a knock on effect on Dembele. Lennon's been a great servant to the club but unfortunately it looks like his best days are behind him. It would be nice to see him play on the right to find out, though.

Greavsie had a goal disallowed in each leg,the one at WHL was disallowed for offside after,he had dribbled past 4or 5 players to score FFS,and they say we have dodgy refs now

I have only ever attended one Spurs game and that was in January 1961 against Arsenal in your famous double season. What a team you had then! I was in London on business and given a ticket. Massive crowd of over 65,000 and you won 4-2. Well worth reminiscing that one!

The Standard say Dawson may play.

Great, that's another player who'll no doubt score against us...
