Your mate blatantly works at the independent http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...red-to-be-out-until-the-new-year-9870530.html
Nope. The no money in January thing is not a recent development. It was always the case, apparently, so it's not down to recent poor form of those signed in the summer.
well if that's true, sorry but that's ****ing shocking. why give all money that was available to spend, just in the summer window ffs? ie incase a situation arises as we are currently in, where its gone pete tong and needed some for jan window. also our best buys to date from brendan have come in the jan window ffs! and ffs again!!
In fairness they've allowed him to invest over £220m in the 2 1/2 years he's been in the job, £100m of which is net spend. He increased the head count in the summer and spent £120m so if they've told him months ago that he'll have to sell to buy in Jan, then I can't see what's so wrong with that tbh. Tough on Sturridge if the 6 weeks out is true.
It's odd that Rodgers said that he would have made the signings he made (except Balotelli) even if Suarez hadn't been sold. I'm guessing the suarez fee is just the right amount to fund the stand expansion though, which sucks.
Guardian have just released this, so looks confirmed. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/nov/19/liverpool-daniel-sturridge-six-weeks-injury 6 weeks. f**. f**ing useless c**t
I can't blame the owners for not giving Rodgers money to spend. He spends Champions League fees and mid table players like Lallana, Lovren, Borini and Allen. Not to mention allowing him to spend £100m in total in the summer. I wouldn't trust him to spend anything.
Sell Borini, Gerrard, Johnson, Lucas. Free up the massive wage bill because that is the true cost of a player and it helps with FFP.
The last three would have to be paid to leave I believe. They're all on mega wages and happy to see their contracts out.
you'd really think he'd grab the opportunity wouldn't you? It's his last real time to shine. If he doesn't work for us, he will never play at a better club than us, guaranteed. he'll go to some crappy french team. It's what leads me to believe he's actually just thick. He's got raw talent, somewhere, but he's too thick to translate that into superior consistent performances on the pitch. He looks gormless out there.
Also seems slow to learn, you'd think he'd have started to change his style once he realised that his normal wasn't right for the club.
We just have to bring Origi back in January, or asap. We are in trouble this season and signing Balotelli, who has played as our main striker will be the downfall of Rodgers.

You can't unless Lille agree and they'll only do that if you pay them a decent sized wedge I'd imagine.
