It's early days with the transfer window but yet again there's a nagging feeling it'll be deja vu for us fans.

On the one had you need to settle who's staying before you can make new acquisitions however, without new blood there seems to be little that will change with the club and players won't want to have the same trophy-less season.

Man United were Champions but they've still made a bold statement with their new transfers. Like wise Liverpool who after a decent end to season have far more buzz than we do. Chelsea have had to wait for the new boss coming in and not sure on Man City but with an F.A Cup win and huge wads of cash to spend the mood must be pretty upbeat for them also.

Cesc might be a done deal with nothing left to do but say had we signed Cahill or Samba or Jagielka and an experienced GK like Given surely the whole place is lifted? We'll lose players some of which won't be replaced and be haggling up until the end of the window disappointed at the lack of quality and the players we failed to bring in..

Hope things change and soon or it seems we're in for an awful season.

It's difficult to see any positives from the situation as it appears and with Wengers customary caution new signings are likely to be elusive.

If he doesn't pull some rabbits out of the hat by the end of July his credibility is going to be stretched to breaking point.

To be fair to Wenger, he said that the end of July is going to be the busiest time in the transfer market. At the moment everyone is 'holding their cards close to their chest'. Wait and see, then judge.

In all honesty none of us know what deals Arsenal are trying to tie up.I wouldn't be suprised to see something happen before the team leave on the far east tour

Would be nice to see us sign someone who we could get really excited about. Haven't had one since Arshavin.

i'm genuinely surprised that after sounding off at the end of the season about a very busy summer, nothing of note has happened yet. i thought he'd reveal a couple of players on 1st July that he'd snared from overseas. i'm a staunch supporter of Arsene, but it's always been wait til the end of the season, then wait til the end of summer, then wait til the end of the season to judge.

this summer, it looks like some of the top players are leaving. nasri should not have been allowed to reach this stage of contract, negotiations should begin with 2 1/2 years remaining, and be tied up by 2.

if decent players are not brought in this summer i am starting to fear for next year.

Why end of July? If you MEAN to sign players - GET ON WITH IT.

Wenger is so full of ****, and I'm sick of listening to it. He's just made that up, about July being the busiest. Didn't he once say that the last few days of the transfer window are the busiest? Anything that comes out of Wenger's mouth now just makes me angry.

Man United were Champions but they've still made a bold statement with their new transfers

    =================

They replaced 3 players who retired with 3 overpriced players. Not a statement I hope to see Arsenal make, to be fair.

    Yeah agree 100%

This is a make or break transfer window for Wenger. If he ****s this one up it's over for him.

As always it's hard to see the truth from the 'rumours' but what upsets me is Wenger's lack of fight when addressing the issue.

Had it been United having 4-5 of their first team rumoured to be leaving Ferguson would no doubt come out fighting and address the situation, he would also fight tooth and nail to keep his most important players. Wenger on the other hand stays silent, leaves us guessing which only exacerbates the situation. Sometimes I wish the man would show a little more backbone.

You've hit the nail on the head. Wenger has no ****ing balls. He's become a loser.

He is misguided rather than a loser.

Bear - to be fair to Wenger, it's probably not the sort of thing you want played out in public because it increases the risk of losing face and leaves people backing themselves into a corner. I share your frustration with the lack of activity but as others have said we have to wait and see.

Wait and see until the negotiations with your targets break up because Wenger is a stubborn little bastard and by the last week of the transfer window you are left with buying young 'potential' players as the other targets have told you to **** off, or vice versa.

You will end up worse off by the end of the window, with the likes of Nasri and Clichy going and **** all to replace them.
Gibbs? Just a poor man's Clichy.
