We have AT LEAST 4 players to cover the two winger positions counting Rodriguez. This doesn't even bring the likes of Mayuka and Isgrove into the equation. What I wrote depended on Rodriguez staying. I said I can't see us signing another winger if Rodriguez stays. Hence if Rodriguez is going then we might sign another winger. Can't agree with that. Koeman hasn't experimented with Long at striker even 3 or 4 nil up. Rodriguez has been ineffective at striker every time he's played there. Long could be cover there, as he can play there, but Koeman's actions suggest he is not. Mayuka came on at striker against Sunderland.
Not if Pelle gets injured we don't. Long and Mane can play centrally so one will cover for Pelle. This leaves Long or Mane, Tadic and Rodriguez. Mayuka and Isgrove are nowhere near good enough. We need either a striker or a winger to cover an injury to Pelle.
I think we could do with another winger anyway, with Mane off to ACON and Rodriguez likely leaving in the summer.
We definitely need another winger if Rodriguez is going. What I was saying was based on him staying. If Rodriguez isn't expected to return soon then we'll need another winger for when Mane goes. It does overload the position though for when Mane returns from ACON, if Rodriguez isn't sold. Especially with Tadic looking like a nailed on starter that won't be rotated.
Even with Rodriguez staying he won't be the same for ages. Rodriguez, Mane, Tadic and Long aren't enough cover for the wings.
Better too many players than too few. If we are looking to qualify for the CL, we need a bigger squad. We can always loan someone out if necessary.

I didn't bother to look any further after finding that many tie-ups. Look out for him on other forums, but not here.
Regarding Redmond, who would people prefer him or Townsend? Price should obviously be factored into the choice. I think Redmond because Townsend arriving would definitely mean Jay going (he still might of course...)
