Take it from me, if friendlies are to be played, then this one with be as equally competitive, if not more so as qualifying games. I fancy it will be a draw, and a share of the spoils.

I listened to the first half and then watched the second and I can honestly say I wasn't really entertained through either medium.

The point before about hoping to lose was badly written - it was generally meant on the basis that I'd prefer to watch a brilliant game of football where the team I support loses, than dull 90mins and a win. It is about entertainment afterall.

I think it is different when it is your home town club because to me it is more real; you can feel it and become part of it - either at the ground or listening on commentary. England isn't as much of an attraction in recent years - not really sure why.

As they recently voted to stay with us what national anthems are being used pre-match?

We'll be using God save the queen of course.

I imagine they'll probably be using the theme tune from Conan.

They're probably using a Bay City Rollers track.

Bye Bye Baby would be my guess.

It should be a good game, but the pessimism is starting to get on my nerves. Do some of you feel ashamed of being born on English soil or something?

Hodgson: "It will be a hard-fought, competitive game. Each challenge will be well-competed for but it won't be a physical game".

    I bet no-one's told the jocks. <doh>

Who cares about this game. ?? Surely Only the Scots will be up for it anyway. The game is a chance for WOY to use a few others but i bet he does not. No wonder the club managers get upset.

For the record i would like to see this England line up start just to see how they handle the game and atmosphere.

    GK - Frazer Forster(1st half / Ben Foster(2nd half)

    Clyne - Chambers - Cahill(c) - Shaw

    Ox-Chamberlain - Milner - Barkley - Lallana

    Lambert - Berahino

with Smalling for Cahill, Walcott for Oc-Chamberlain, Downing for Lallana all on @ HT.

A pressure free game for England.

Not yet sadly. But we can hope even if it is a remote hope.

Not even sure what he's saying there. Bit of a nothing statement. Other than trying to defend the decision to hold the game at all, in advance of us inevitably getting someone injured.

I expect he'll have to lose a few games first, like any other manager.

I guess this is what it would feel like if the press didn't whip us all up into a frenzy about international football.
I kinda miss the blind optimism that they feed us, the cars with flags hanging from their windows that add to the drag of vehicle, and therefore guzzle more petrol as a price of it.

I am just not as interested in international football anymore.
Is it just me getting old or does anyone else feel like the lack of press coverage has had a detrimental affect on the sport?

Not seen this mentioned anywhere but it was brought up on Talksport today (they had Richard Osman from Pointless on, Fulham supporter) that the viewing figures were well down for the Slovenia match, the FA will be concerned at this- people have lost faith in England and this is down primarily to the manager

It will be a physical game, Roy...

'kin 'ell, he really does come across as a confused, senior citizen at times.

I know it says 'Friendly' in front of it, but it will be physical and quick, and we need to be up for it.

I'd rather see England beat the sweaties in their back yard than any other team.

I think any proper Englishman would.

    As for Woy?

Whilst he insists on picking players from the big clubs regardless of talent or form he can **** off.

He's pretty clueless all 'round when you think about it. His comment about it not being a physical game tomorrow being a prime example.

Just another example of how clueless Hodgson is. Can't wait till they get rid of him and we start seeing an England side out there that truly represents the talent we have. Smalling and Chambers should never again be anywhere near the side although I really like Clyne.
