I get that and I've had people ask me why I intend to carry on - I may change my mind at some point, but right now I'm happy to be a vape.

Once you get tryng all the different flavours you'd be surprised. When I started I only went for tobacco flavours, but the last 6 weeks I've been trying all sorts of weird and wonderful flavours. For me this is good on 2 levels, it gets rid of the association by taste, and also makes vaping so much more enjoyable. I'm currently vaping Honey (75%) and Banana (25%) - it's so nice. The same firm do a Devon Custard flavour to and it is delicious.

Another point on Vaping and the 'pudding' flavours - is that it is being used more and more as a dieting aid. People use the 0% nicotine but choose flavours such as Black forest gateaux etc. etc. You can get some crazy flavours especially at Triphammer (check it out http://triphammer.co.uk :))

The idea is when they get a hunger pang they vape as much as they can antil it has dissipated. Research even says this has the potential to be an amazing breakthrough in the world of weight loss #gerrez

  2. Wouldn't having nice flavours encourage you to vape even more?

The problem with an ex smoker continuing as a vaper, is that whilst you're using it you're still a nicotine addict, as your system is still getting its fix. So the chances of sliding back into tobacco use are far higher imo.

It's like a heavy drinker giving up spirits but still supping a few bottles of alcopops to take the edge off it.

It's always a hot topic of debate that is. But my view is if you grow up in really **** conditions on a really **** highrise housing estate in a really **** part of London. Drugs are rife - and although you don't get held down and it forced on you (well in most cases you don't!) then you still have a huge likely hood you'll end up on drugs, your best mates do it, your mum does it, cousins do it, the ability to escape a scenario like that when very uneducated is near on

But smoking is not really an addiction to nicotine. As I understand it the body is actually craving a Dopamine hit. The Dopamine release is stimulated by the Nicotine. The body has no other use for Nicotine. Therefore if the body could still get it's Dopamine fix from another source it would be more than happy. If that could be achieved without the toxic inputs of tobacco then even better.

Therefore, the real addiction is to Dopamine and maybe to the rituals and paraphernalia that surround smoking

True but all you have to do, as I do is adjust the the amount of nicotine in each bottle so it levels itself out :)

I did the Fruit Pastelle test on TripHammer about a month or so back -

Firstly go to the shop and buy a packet of standard Fruit Pastelles.
Then snap them in half and eat/chew on half of the pack in one go.
Once all the sweets have gone wash your mouth out with mouth wash and clean your teeth so you're minty fresh.
Then load up you vapouriser with Fruit Pastelle e-juice
Get vaping - spend a good 2 or 3 minutes vaping with intervals (obviously!)
Now comapre tastes from eating them and vaping them.
    100% the same taste

6 people took part and 5 of us could not believe how the taste was so similar - the other 1 said it tasted similar but not identical.

That's how spot on they get their flavours <yikes>

Is this vape stuff even safe?? I mean, who tests and regulates it. It's marketed as a 'safe' option to smoking right but aren't the liquids just full of **** chemicals to get the crazy flavours?

I actually think it's a bad thing as it still glamourises smoking. Whose to say that kids (or anyone) might try it and say, hmmm I wonder what the real things are like and if they're any better and so buy a pack of 20 super kings to see.

They were ok. Fruit pastels though, every time I ate one of those I was terrified it would pull a tooth right out whenever I chewed. Wouldn't dare go near one nowadays.

    Both decent points mate.

On the first, there's conflicting opinion on the level of safety of vaping, but the reality is that there's not enough research been done to prove that there's any significant risk. What can be said with a sense of certainty, is that it's a lot less dangerous than smoking tobacco.

The second is subjective. People vape with equipment that bares no relation to cigarettes and it's got an 'image' that is clean, unlike smoking which is viewed as socially debilitating these days. On balance I think that its benefit as a smoking cessation aid outweighs its potential impact in creating new smokers.

Unfortunately this is failing fast due to the powers that be not making enough tax off vaping. Most hospitals have now banned it and in my area at least many pubs have too (despite being quite willing to sell you stuff that damages your liver and kidneys).

The thing is some people seem to think they can do it anywhere. I've seen applicants for jobs in our reception try it on. The facts remain

Nicotine addiction kills more people than any other cause and the same taxes are coming on this form. I still don't know if this form is not as dangerous or not but I don't want it near me

As far as I am aware MITO, nobody has died of Nicotine addiction. Rather they have died from the effects of the delivery system i.e. smoking tobacco. Let's get it right hey!
