The Judge, with Robert Duvall & Robert Downey Jr. Every scene makes its point, every line of dialogue weighs in. But it works the material too hard - it's all so emphatic and over-egged and improbably tied together. 8/10...
FURY ---> A dark, claustrophobic and foreboding depiction of how the "greatest generation" not only fought against the evil of Nazism, but also the monster within themselves.
All is Lost: Really enjoyed this, like "Gravity" at sea but with no dialogue or fancy special effects. Robert Redford is perfect.
Yeh saw this at the cinema...keeps you guessing right to the end. Brilliantly understated film imo The cinematography when he climbs up to the top of the mast
Nightcrawler. Edge of the seat thriller thanks mainly to Jake Gyllenhaal's eerie performance. Don't think it will be everyone's cuppa tea. It's a very good film and tension ratchets up brilliantly as the film goes on. BUT would I watch it again? Probably not.
Watched it last night on your recommendation. Agreed it was quite good. Enjoyed it. Any other suggestions that may be on Netflix would be appreciated.
NEIGHBORS, a comedy about a young couple suffering from arrested development who are forced to live next to a fraternity house after the birth of their newborn baby…Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Rose Byrne lead the cast of Neighbors… I really laughed with this comedy!
The Babadook Great Aussie low budget horror that re-inforces the fear of when you were young enough to look under your bed in fear.
Interstellar A brilliant two and a half hours spoiled by a completely stupid last half hour. A good effort Mr Nolan but really....did you have to? 7/10 Mystic riverSat down the other night to revisit this brilliant movie. Wasn't disappointed even if I had seen it before. Wonderful cast, excellent story told by a director at the peak of his powers. Clint should give Christopher some pointers. If you haven't seen it then go watch it. Movies don't get much better than this 9/10
No usually a big fan of comic book films but Guardians of the Galaxy was quite good. Really well written for a comic book film.
Maybe Dev is saying that comic books are well written, just that the films are s**t. Great example is the modern reboot of The Amazing Spider-man which goes completely against the original comics and is the biggest load of bubble-gum pop s**te ever produced. I would recommend Watchmen btw.
