    Died of wounds on the last day of 1916.


    A married man, aged 26.


    The only person actually registered as a Hull City player at the time they died on active service in the first world war.



    I find it incredibly moving that 100 years on, young lads who aspire to follow in his footballing footsteps are being taken to pay their respects.

    We were on the ferry going out last Wednesday and both the City and Newcastle United boys were making the crossing - both sets of lads were obviously enthusiastic and having a good time but they were a credit to the clubs.
