I had money on Murray to win at first, then when I saw how he was playing, lumped £20 on Fed to win second set 6-0 (AT 22-1), and in true form Murray let me down again. I did at least recoup my losses by covering 6-1 and bet on Murray to win his last game, again to cover the bet.
I refer to comments I made elsewhere. No one cares about league. Its the training ground for the real game you'll see at Twickenham later today. A game where the forwards do so much more than just run around and tackle, & the backs don't have to give the ball back after only 6 tackles
You mean the game where the ball is constantly kicked off the park and nearly 30% of the game time is spent waiting for it to be thrown back on in a line out. I follow both codes but league is faster and it's no coincidence that average league players make world superstars in Union.
And yet the worlds most outstanding League player from recent years Benji Marshall failed to break into super 15 rugby and had to move back to the easier sport.
Cheers Chesh. The 4 nations play off final was a good game with a lot of skill. But league forwards do phark all other than run around and try to tackle. One wonders how league backs would cope if league forwards could tackle and know the game would last longer than just 6 tackles

Not good games yesterday and the league game is faster.But I would compair it to boxing,League is like fly weight boxers fast and lots of softer punches.Union is more of the heavy weight slower but much harder hits.League is more like touch Rugby played by the under 12's and Girls.How can you take any sport serious when it only has 3 real teams and only 2 of them any good.[Australia and NZ]
But we both know that friendlies mean feck all. I will conceed that it is possible for someone apart from NZ or SA to win it. NZ are bottlers in the only tournament that matters and England won it in 2003 playing anti rugby!
