    David Moyes.
Now says La Liga is the "best" league , better than the Premier League. My problem is that if he's part of it, it can't be that flash! He had modest success with a mid table team and zero success with a top team, so how come he's got any job in the "best " League?

    Ched Evans
Convicted of raping a girl who was "too drunk to consent" His case is under urgent review for an unsafe verdict. Released after 2.5 yrs of 5 year sentence, his return to football is being slammed by many. Where do you stand?
My feeling is if he's done his time , he should be able to resume his career as he would if a plumber, film maker or baker. How he earns his living should not come into the equation. Tricky one given the profile of footballers, but football is the profession he chose, so I think he should be able to work at what he's trained to do.

    FIFA.
Yet another case of disinformation, secrecy and distortion from FIFA regarding the corruption about 2018 and 2022. When will Football Federations show some decency and leave FIFA. Just the top European and South American federations even without Africa , Asia and the Middle East would be enough to get sponsors to leave FIFA in droves. Time to grow a pair.

'Dead as a Dodo'. Not quite mate, get yourself over to our board for a visit <ok>

And Ched Evans, I lost business today because of him <grr>

Moyes is an interesting one to see how that works out

FIFA I cant even be arsed with, its clear they're bunch of corrupt idiots, everyone knows. Whats the point discussing. We havent the power to take away their power and those that have are too busy resting in their ivory towers to do anything about it

I am 100% with you on Ched Evans. Moyes is a dinosaur, FIFA total disgrace to mankind, and all it stands for. We need to break away from them and form our own footballing governance see how many will follow, most of europe my guess. I am losing the will to live over the injustices i encounter day in day out. This world is a ****ed up place, glad I'm on my way out but fear for my grandchildren.

I don't want to throw my weight behind Evans and say I condone his actions. But agree with you all who say that 'he has done his time'.
Just cannot stand all those mongers making business out of this Evans situations - with all their statements, threats etc.

Moyesy is funny. FIFA is FIFA.

La Liga is the best league in the world this season.

Real Madrid - Current CL holders.

Barcelona are Barcelona and although they are not the side they were unde Pep, a front three of Messi, Neymar and Suarez is not to shabby.

Athletico Madrid - Current Spainish champions and CL runners-up and still a formidable force under the management of Simeone.

Sevilla - Current Europa League holders and play brilliant football under the guidance of the brilliant manager Unai Emery also Carlos Bacca is one hell of a forward.

Valancia - They have been quality this season and are also playing great football having adopted the DOrtmund style, no real star names, but as a team they are very good.

Five quality teams, the PL can't match that this season. Only Chelsea can compete with the big three from Spain and on current form anyway, Sevilla and Valancia would beat everyone in our league bar Chelsea.

Spain has the best teams but is not the best league in my view. Just look at how Liverpool, United etc are struggling despite being probably the 2 biggest clubs in England. That never happens in Spain because there is shocking imbalance towards the big 2. Just see the points totals the big 2 get every year and you can see how uncompetitive the league is.

Chad Evans should be allowed to play on as that's his 'trade' and he has done his time. However entirely up to a given club whether they want to give him a contract and looks more grief than it's worth sponsors wise etc.

FIFA, well Quatar getting a world cup just shows how deep the corruption must run there and I don't care what some report says. First things first, get rid of the old men like Blatter and start again. World football needs FIFA but FIFA needs honesty and transparency.

Dunno whether I agree with Evans coming back to football. I don't think a convicted rapist should be representing a community in that way or being cheered from the stands. Bizarre situation as he obviously needs to earn a living and has served his time for what he denies he did.

Sheff Utd will get a profuse amount of stick if they do take him back.

I agree it's a hot potato. Whoever takes him back will get a load of stick and suspect it may be a lower league club who will get value out of a good player. A bigger club like Sheff Und may be better steering clear for commercial reasons etc.

I don't really see footballers as good role models regardless for the most part.

Saw that. Fair play to her. Also read Jessica Ennis would have her name removed from one of their stands if he was resigned.

They're not, but a kid supporting his local team will have no idea of the severity of something like rape and cheer the bloke on if he bags a load of goals meaning he'll look up to him. Parents job to tell them otherwise and all that but it still happens.

Reminds me of the Graham Rix situation but on a much bigger scale.

Yeah I understand that argument as well. Tough one because you can come out of prison and be a lot more anonymous if you're a member of the general public and it probably is a bit easier to slip back into society than a famous footballer.

He certainly wont get much sympathy if he can't get a contract though. Stupid boy.

He has a right to earn a living not a right to be a footballer.
He is a convicted rapist...it is very unlikelyva plumber convicted of rape would be able to go back to being a plumber as it could leave women in danger. The same is true if he had been a taxi driver, teacher, social worker, a cleaner in a hospital,a college worker etc.

Evans refuses to accept he has done anything wrong...his supporters named the woman he raped on twitter and she has had to move and go into hiding due to the threats she then recieved. So she aint able to continue her previous life so I have no sympathy for the idea that he should be able to return to be a footballer. A website run by his fwther is currently being investigated as people associated with it by police for hiring a private investigator to find the woman he raped.

On a side note jessica ennis has also received threats after speaking out...at least one saying they hope she gets raped.

There are some sickos around and imo the convicted rapist evans is one of them

RE: David Moyes. I'm a Bristol lad and I remember David Moyes playing for Bristol City. A decent enough footballer at third tier level but he seems to have been too influenced by many of my fellow Bristolians with sour grapes with regard to the top flight of English football. Bristol City were relegated in 1980 and have not yet returned to the promised land of top flight football. I last saw Bristol City play Chelsea in the league in the old division 2 circa 1981 and would love nothing more than to see Bristol City play Chelsea again in the league. Bristol City and Chelsea remain the only 2 clubs left in the top 5 divisions still unbeaten and long may it continue. :emoticon-0157-sun:

Abu, thanks for replying, and all the others as well. Football is so linked to everyday life it's hard to separate social issues some times. Think there were good thoughts on here and no piss takers. Iv'e got 2 little grandkids too and hopefully another soon. FIFA is a glowing example of tired and lazy old men ( not women) using corrupt and sleazy methods to create a little empire for themselves at the expense of the people. Most Governments do the same on a much bigger level. The world is a ****ed up place at the moment, but there are still wonders to enjoy every day.Without getting any deeper than that, the kids are the future, and their education is the answer. Poor education is the achillies heel of the world. Teach your children well.

Dont usually reply to you as you're just poisonous and cant be arsed with bitter fools like yourself

But, on this occassion you are lucky and will get a little of my time.

Lets look at a very quick pattern shall we? Banned: Your bitter self, LOnly, Cpofl when he was here etc

Not banned and who visit our board: Bodianki, Drogs, Chelsea 100 yrs etc

Now do you see a pattern? Surely you can, you do not have to be a mathematician to see something here. Decent posters to not so decent posters? We like to keep our board healthy and it shows by its activity

Now I wont derail Pensioners thread who seems a decent bloke so farewell. Try and laugh once in a while, life is to short to be angry all the time

Evans refuses to admit that he's done anything wrong as he's always maintained his innocence

His supporters outed the supposed victim after she posted on twitter to her mates that she was about to "win big". They brought it into the public domain and rightly so.
