Well we dont really have gun laws. Our constitution basically forbids us from restricting their sale and ownership. I understand the historical context of why our constitution was written the way it was. I think that we could use some reasonable restrictions like back ground checks at gun shows, courts being able to take away guns/bar the purchase of temporarily for mental illness or domestic issues. I think automatic weapons and conversion kits should be illegal, we could grandfather in the ones currently out there. We could even raise the age of purchase to 21 like alcohol instead of 18 to buy a gun like it currently is.

None of that will do much good unless the federal government and states priorities mental illness treatment, suicide prevention, reform the prison system, and focus on the route causes of violence in poor areas.

Yes I own a bunch of firearms, they are mainly family heirlooms. A few are from the 1800s, the earliest is from 1868 but most are from the 1900-1960 range and are from my great grandfather and grandfather, my father has purchased quite a few as well that will come to me eventually. The only one that I have that was purchased expressly for me is a Winchester Model 70 .306.

I believe in our justice system, the man has served his time.

You are clinging to a very primal, barbaric and out dated moral code.

    You're a weak character.

I would like you to explain that to the families of the three (two) cops he killed, I'm sure they would agree with you
    "Do good" sentiments.

As an aside, why is it that many of the people who call the police '****ing scum' and 'a bunch of totalitarian ****er ****s' are the same ones who are outraged at this guy for killing them? Double standards.

It's attributed to Ghandi, though there's no record of him actually saying it, the closest recorded quote is..."The shreds of individuality cannot be sewed together with a bayonet; nor can democracy be restored according to the Biblical injunction of an 'eye for an eye' which, in the end, would make everybody blind."

Though he probably did say it at some point and either way it wasn't John Lennon, who actually said “Living is Easy with Eyes Closed.”

    Easy mistake.

Lennon also said “There are no problems, only solutions.”

A profound and brilliantly optimistic world view.

    Genius.

Mind you, he also said that there's Nazis in the bathroom, just below the stairs.

    There isn't. I've looked.

    He wasn't right about everything.

It's also double standards to call police scum then as soon as your family are in danger call them.
Anyway by no standards in the world can it be ok to kill two cops in cold blood.

Hans: "An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind."

Billy: "No, it doesn't. There'll be one guy left with one eye. How's the last blind guy gonna take out the eye of the last guy left?"

Killing you would be a mercy killing, but we'd have less to laugh at, so I'd rather you were spared.
