Exactly. Hes already our player so we lose nothing by bringing him back into the squad. I fully expect van gaal will buy plenty of defenders in the next window.
Hey? Don't understand that at all. We need a defensive type midfielder. We have enough wide players in the squad already. We have an opportunity to swap one for the other, but you're suggesting we keep him bcos he costs nothing, regardless of where the immediate need is greatest. All of this is academic as neither will happen, but I don't follow your thinking there.
Treble's point is that we might be able to use Nani in a swap deal to secure Carvalho. Not sure if Sporting would want us to include Nani in any deal, but in that case if we bring Nani back into the squad then we might lose on Carvalho. So there would be an opportunity cost as we could lose out on a player we really need, just to keep one we don't need as much. Of course if Sporting will just take cash for Carvalho and we can keep Nani as well then there's no problem there, as long as Nani doesn't go back to his old self as soon as he steps back through the OT door.
They would rip our hands off for such a deal. They cannot afford to pay nanis wages though so its unlikely. My point is it would cost us nothing at all, literally to have him back. We still pay his wages. We have two wingers. One of who I really want to see back in midfield. That leaves one winger.
Valdes to replace madrid bound de gea, according to the independent. This could happen, i doubt de gea would snub madrid considering he is spanish.
Would Gerrard have snubbed United when Fergie was winning everything? He's English so I'm guessing you think that had United gone in for him he would have allowed his granny to be kidnapped to get the transfer.
This. It's just driven by the pseudo racist "all Spanish players dream of playing for Madrid" BS. De Gea was at Atletico for over a decade, on one side of a massive rivalry with Real. Like Shteve says, assuming De Gea must automatically want to go to Madrid as the biggest Spanish side is like assuming any former Liverpool player must want to go to Utd as the biggest English side. If anything, it's more likely to be overseas players who have their heads turned by Real - Zidane, Figo, Ronaldo, Benzema, Bale, Rodriguez, when was the last time Real signed a big Spanish name who wasn't already looking for a new club? Spanish players seem more likely to decide to move based on their own club loyalties rather than the blanket foreign view that Spain is all about Real and Barca.
United and Liverpool haven't transferred players in over 70 years lol. De Gea might wanna return to Spain cause it's Spain and he's Spanish. Weather, culture, his preference etc. Then again he might not
So now you do doubt that De Gea would snub Real? You should make up your mind. I think Swarbs is right, you have a very simplistic view of Spanish football and think that it's all about Real and Barca. I suspect you also had no idea that De Gea is an Atletico Madrid man. In short, you're clueless.
Stop getting upset. Madrid who if they were interested would offer double what hes worth and double his wages as well . You dont know him. He might not give a **** about Athletico and just go for the money.
50 years. It was Phil Chisnall in 1964 you plastic Good work tho', going from "i doubt de gea would snub madrid considering he is spanish" to "De Gea might wanna return to Spain cause it's Spain and he's Spanish. Weather, culture, his preference etc. Then again he might not" in less than 48 hours. You've obviously well practised at winding your neck in
True but there is always an exception to the rule. Alan Smith joined you guys from Leeds after claiming he hated you and would never join. Ronaldo (the proper one) played for both Real and Barca. Figo went directly from one to the other. Michael Owen...? Its unlikely De Gea would join Real but its not impossible. Can't see you guys letting him leave anyway.
