Theres an awful lot of assumptions being made on this subject, if Mings goes anywhere at all whos to say what the fee will be? Furthermore will Marcus Evans use it to recoup some of the money hes put into the Club? We supposedly got £3m+ for Cresswell but I don't remember any big signings coming into the Club so presumably the money is still available to MM or has been returned to ME.
Marcus Evans has put a fortune into ITFC and theres going to come a point where he wants some of it back and if we don't get promoted the only way to recoup is through the sale of players.

We currently operate on around a £9 mill annual loss which is absurd to say the least. The wage bill is a lot more under control than the Keane/ Jewell days, and our big transfer fee days are long gone.

Even if we get £10 mill for Mings, it will not be an upfront transfer fee - they never are, it'll be spread over 2/3 years.

Mings though, god he needs work !!!!!

I tell you what there is some crap and bollocks in this thread, we have a young player we picked up for little more than a friendly, a host of top clubs who watch him week in week out and some of you have sold him already...Only Town fans could turn this positive position into a negative.....Their clearly are a couple of you who know diddly about football!

Football is to much about buying and fecking selling these days, let's just coach what we have for a while.

Kevin Beattie, George Burley, Mick Mills, Johnny Wark, Kieron Dyer, Jason Dozel, Richard Wright they all played for Town under 20 and they all showed huge potential. Ty is just another of that long list that shows huge potential but still has a lot to prove. Let's keep Ty at Ipswich so that he can develop with us.

I've never known so much hype around a player for me who hasn't stood out a great deal for me, yes he's done well and could potentially become a very good player for us but at the moment I just don't get how much hype there is around him and the absurd money being touted honestly it's crazy. I'd rather we keep young talented footballers and I honestly think this is the best place to be for the lad but with those prices I'd drive him there personally.

Bishop on the other hand I could see why there would be hype behind the lad

Thanks for clearing this up...we are allowed to get excited about Ted Bishop but not about Tyrone Mings..<doh>
To say that he has not really stood out is mind boggling, I guess the player of the month award means nothing to you then?

What is most disturbing is that the terms off load and drive him there myself have been used about a player who is in the early stages of his career, these phrases are surely more suitable for the likes of Chopra!

Have you untwisted you knickers yet Hoopers? Yes you can get excited by Tyrone if you wish if it stops you being a patronising CU Next Tuesday....

If any player in our team is bid £10 million for I'd drive them there myself especially if Cresswell is worth £3.5 million....I think I'm one disturbed individual

    Amen ITFCPTC completely agree.

Sure Mings has potential, and looks a better proposition than before. Last season I honestly thought he was about as much use as Pim Balkenstein.........!!

By all means, every single player is worth as much as anyone is willing to pay, so fair enough!

Turning this into a negative, don't make me laugh! Some of us are being a little bit more realistic, and frankly are shocked that a player who has played less than 40 times is attracting such attention!

Fair play to Mings, you keep developing and improving. You clearly do have potential, lets see where it goes!

Seriously, does anyone truly believe at this moment in time Mings is worth £10 mill????!!!! If that's the case, how come Cresswell went for £3.75 mill upfront rising to £7 mill ?!
