Morning all. Mick is testing a new updated site to eventually replace this one. There a load of technical jargon I don't get for the reasons why but in the meantime we have been to look at the site and make comments, both positive and negative. Be aware that our board on the site shows very old posts at the mo but you can post on it if you like. Let me know what you think.

If you have any questions, I'll try to answer them as best I can... Or I'll ask Dave! Lol

    <ok>

    Where is the new site?
Will the information in not606 be cloned to the new site?
Is the new site to overlay not606 and replace it over a time period?
Will we need new Hornets nest?

I have had a test editing the Nest and it is to date there. I am not happy with the drop down edit menus as they drop over text and chosing the function is difficult as the cursor picks the text underneath.

As a plus it is faster than not606 here.

Can we have a competition for a new picture with the new site?

Do the threads autoupdate? That was my biggest disappointment when we moved to this site.
Does the first message of a thread stay there or does it just go off the page as more messages are loaded? Again 606 was great it kept it there....

No comment on functionality yet, but visually I'm disappointed that avatars are so much smaller (on iPad, anyway).
I've become very fond of my Michael Palin pic, and it doesn't show nearly as well that small. Nor do any of the others really.
But I'm not change averse. ( Have painters working at home as I type on all the alterations we've had done!)

Does look a bit beta... <whistle>

Will the 'go to last message read' button still be there? I could only see a link to the last message posted.

I've only just used to this site - still not sure what "repping" is or why it's done. I've managed without so far though.......

Moving to yet another site (albeit an "upgraded" Not606) fills me with trepidation. <yikes>

I think repping is a point scoring system for a younger generation who grew up with computer games. Wonder what level two is like when you get there?

Hmm. We'll get used to it, like we do all the upgrades that are given to us. I'm sure that it must be very necessary or Mick wouldn't be doing it.

Not greatly enthused by it, but if it works it will do.

Just because no one answered this, doesn't mean you got away with it, BB. I don't know - perhaps I'm overreacting. They say your bark is worse than your byte...
