How are Cape Verde rated 23rd best international team in the world? Is it because they never ever play anyone as some other poster suggested. I know of a boxer who once went up 3 places in the heavyweight rankings after he died!!!!. So just how are Cape Verde so successful?

I wish theyd just scrap international football bar the two tournaments.

Take a look at the make up of FIFA and their recognised national football associations all of whom have voting rights to enable funding for football development. How else can FIFA balance out voting?

That would hold water if we hadn't failed to qualify for a tournament as recently as 2008.

i have no problem with qualifiers! it gives lesser nations supporters a rare chance to see quality players playing competatively! its half arsed friendlies that should be stopped! i suppose again it gives some countries a chance to watch the 'superstars' in action but when players are playing at about 50% and scared to get injured then i dont see the point!

These international breaks are a pain , and it looks like Fletch caught one again playing for the Tartan army.

He seems very injury prone when playing for his country.
I'm beginning to wonder if that's why they changed their National Anthem from Scotland The Brave to Flower Of Scotland.
