I've just had a rant/exposé session on Twitter to explain why - I'd appreciate you reading too. @ConnorArmstrong: I was invited to take part in @WillHillBet's #WH433 - a prediction league with one representative from each of the 20 top flight clubs... @ConnorArmstrong: ...the idea being that I'd download the app & make weekly predictions, to try and finish 1st & win the prize of £4.33k which @WillHillBet... @ConnorArmstrong: ...said would then be donated to a charity/local group of my choice. However, on the 10th of October 2014, @WillHillBet cancelled #WH433... @ConnorArmstrong: ...with immediate effect. As such, the competition ceased to exist and the game was discontinued immediately. I was then contacted by... @ConnorArmstrong: ...@chrissssmith of @Shiny_Red, who had been liaising with me and involved in the process of organising the @WillHillBet #WH433 league... @ConnorArmstrong: ...and could not have been more helpful during the duration of #WH433. However, since informing me of #WH433's immediate termination... @ConnorArmstrong: ...it was explained to me that the prize pot would be split between all competitors, meaning £260 for a charity of my choice. #WH433 @ConnorArmstrong: I chose to donate my £260 share of the pot to @Benalisbigrun, however, to-date I have sent 4 emails without reply to @Chrissssmith... #WH433 @ConnorArmstrong: ...having attempted to contact Chris on numerous occasions, I then attempted to contact @WillHillBet, who requested some details. #WH433 @ConnorArmstrong: Despite providing payment details, charity number, addresses and my phone numbers to @WillHillBet and @Shiny_Red... #WH433 @ConnorArmstrong: ...the £260 has never been received by @Benalisbigrun, and there has been no further contact from @WillHillBet or @Shiny_Red. #WH433 @ConnorArmstrong: My final attempt to resolve the issue was 6 days ago, when my phone number was requested by @WillHillBet's Head of Public Relations. #WH433 @ConnorArmstrong: Despite providing my phone number, and the numerous emails that I have sent, there has been no contact and no arrangement to pay the £260. @ConnorArmstrong: I'm now extremely disappointed and didn't want to have to go public to try and get the funds that are owed, but there is no other option. @ConnorArmstrong: All I request is: A) I receive contact to inform me that payment will happen - AND - B) @Benalisbigrun receive the £260 payment in full. @ConnorArmstrong: Emails were sent on: October 11th, October 19th, October 31st and November 3rd. There has been no confirmation of the transaction process. @ConnorArmstrong: Again, I am disappointed that it had to come to this, but I feel it is now the only way to get a response and ensure the funds are received. @ConnorArmstrong: I now await reply, and acknowledgement of the required transaction.
I've just noticed the first full grown fly in my house this year. I would have thought they'd have all died by now. !?! It's so rare I'm just asking it if it is God.
There is a theory that in a controlled environment, no natural predators, no-one actually knows how long a Fly could live for. Maybe forever...
Yeah, read that earlier. Quite sad. I know he's known more for other things, but he was in Firefox [1980] as a Russian dissident, and gave the only good acting performance in the whole film. In the scenes while driving in a van to a secret [then Soviet] military airfield, he had Clint Eastwood sat next to him. Eastwood was resembling an oak tree more and more as the scenes progressed. Clarke was quite believable.
Also the actress Rebekah Gibbs has died at 41. I didn't recognise the name but that's not the point. It's really sad. She was diagnosed with cancer just months after having a baby (she noticed a lump in her breast just weeks before her daughter's birth). She was cured of that cancer and was given the 5 year all clear in 2013. However, just months later she had a seizure while on holiday and was diagnosed with two brain tumours. She died today.
