I went here about 10 years ago and really enjoyed a plate of sausage & mash , it was busy and clean with polite staff and tasty home cooked pub grub. Unfortunately i had the displeasure of eating a roast pork lunch a few weeks ago, the place was completely empty a busty slutty barmaid took our orders and returned about 20 minutes later. The meat was 2 thin strips of a frozen pork roll with some canned carrots peas and again frozen roast spuds, the dump was filthy with dust and had a damp smell to it. At £7 i was far from impressed. Ambience 1 Food 1 Horrific. More to follow including Michael's Chinese take away Norwich Rd.
Please don't bother 23! Surely you have better things to wear your keyboard out on rather then typing this drivel.
Looks good i will go next week when i am back in Ipswich. http://www.greatbritishcarvery.co.uk/our-pubs/shepherd-dog
Has there been a change of owners? I find some of the ities have little respect for their food and manners.
This is the thing I miss up here in Scotchland. Country pubs with beer gardens and quality food. They even have a proper telephone box.
This place is top notch ER i had venison in the winter with red cabbage and mash washed down with a pint of Aspalls cider absolutely amazing . The last time i had fresh locally caught dressed crab salad and sat outside in the sun watching the boats . Nice glass of wine great lunch. Ambience 8 Food 9 In fact i will get my old man to take me if it's still sunny next week. Suffolk is a very nice part of the World.
