    More money for Madrid would mean more money for agents, I'm sure they would have a hand persuading the player their future lies elsewhere. Should we should make a concerted effort to sign him in January, before other clubs have too long to concoct things with all interested parties and stakeholders excluding us. Or play it cool and see whether the mightly CL bargaining chip is forged in the white heat of what could be our hottest season on record?

    Really, at the end of the day, if he's someone we want to keep, we'll up the price we're willing to pay. Will operate within the market, but I guess if he has 'big club' offers on the table, he may be tempted. Arsenal and Man U are the most likely threats in this country, I'd guess.

    Agreed (which is also why I'd look to arrange something with Athletico fro January. He wants to stay, we have got leverage and can offer them £10m ot so and everyone is happy. If we wait until the summer, I fear his head will be more easily turned.

    To be fair, I think Toby might be already holding the quill and looking for the dotted line. Morgan and JayRod wiil take a little work. Makes me laugh that any player would want to take a backward step with Spurs though. Yes, they are a bigger club. Arguably Aston Villa are even bigger, but nobody wants to go there either.

    I understood that when we dined Toby on loan it came with an option buy. That's from the press; absolute no brained; from the press he wants to be here. Given how we have handled the signings we have made so far; am confident it will happen.

    Funny..! My S2 has fantastic predictive text, but when any errors happen, I make them all. May I suggest a proper keyboard and full blown Windows/Linux/Apple PC..? :)
