I have seen managers come out with praise for Sir Alex away from post match interviews. Talking of how he called/wrote to them offering advice and support. Why would they say all that if they didn't mean it? They could either say nothing or just a simple one sentence answer of "he is a great man" instead of going into detail.
Yes that'll be his stooge's..Allerdyce,Moyes,McLeish,Bruce, Redknapp and Hughes..You scratch my back, i'll scratch yours.
In terms of the OP, Ferguson just does not compete - like him or detest him. Now for Bob its far too late to do justice so there's no point in making the comparison. We know what Bob achieved and we know about his personal qualities and we respect him and his memory. No knighthood can match that.
He's not as evil and horrible as people make out. Yes he can be arrogant etc in front of the media but it's part of what makes him so successful. Look at Mourinho. The rival manager he got on best with was Sir Alex when they were meant to be the fiercest of rivals. On the other hand he never got on with the likes of Wenger.
I agree. Maybe it would be different if they gave away almost all of their money to charity. Any player could comfortably live on £1k a week an give the other £100k or so to charity.
Fair point. But how do you find these people? If they are not well known how can you praise them? The only way is that award, cannot remember the name, which happends every year for someone who has done especialy well in the community. Memembers of the public state their cadidate and why. You cannot realy do much more than that.
The only charity work Ferguson does is providing Labour party contributions during an election campaign and to the Premiership referees retirement fund.Manc Riley and Steve Bentref are millionaires thanks to Slur Alcie. Secondly the honours system became a joke when they knighted,Bobby Charlton,Trevor Brooking,Elton John and Cliff Richard. They even ''Knighted'' Bob Geldof and he's from Dublin. He's as British as Lennox Lewis..He isn't.
He'll have to wait until the next General Election to be honoured again..so he can make more contributions.
Given that Lennox Lewis was born in London and lived in London for the first 12 years if his life, what exactly does someone have to do to be considered British in your eyes?
The problem with Paisley is that you lot eulogise about Shankly so much. Makes Bob look like he was in Bill's shadow, despite his achievements.
Probably an ouce of truth in there. Shankly is always seen as No.1 as he gave us the blue print for success.
