Exactly. The horrors of war are all too well publicised now. You've got to admire the ones that do as they know exactly whats likely facing them. Add to that the spoiled, privileged lives most of that age group lead and you'd ask, why should they bother?
Why should they bother? A very good question? Would you? They did,fought for what they thought,or were told,was right To the fallen respect.
Eire, I was replying to Docs comment regarding the wearing of a poppy up North and presuming that we's say the Prods were wearing them and the Nationalists weren't because we were raised as RCs because we are South of the border. I wasn't having a go at you and like I've said I've no interest in religion or politics although my Dad wears a poppy and has done for years. But I must add that IMO it should be up to the individual if they want to wear one and they shouldn't be vilified for wearing one or for not wearing one.
Just my opinion, you know yourself how sensitive this subject is down here. Actually I usually don't involve myself in these kinda conversations, so I've broken my promise to myself by getting involved...
