I've been trying not to bite regarding the Specials, but the lead singer is an anti-Leeds, scummer who is well known for having a go at Leeds fans at his gigs. At one gig when he noticed a Leeds flag in the crowd he told then the exit was over there and that any Galatasaray fans were welcome. Terry Hall Turkey jibe ??August 24 2009 at 5:19 PM hetswhite (Login hertswhite) I never start a topic, but a friend at V just texted me to say that Terry Hall of the Specials made a jibe about Leeds fans and Galatasaray - "Any Leeds fans in?"..."Exit's that way"..."Galatasaray fans can stay"
Sounds like off colour banter to me. You have said worse! P.S Elland says you can keep the bait, line and even his rod. But can he have his arm back please?
A few points from this post: Young McDaid been with the Irish squad (Kids) and doing well. Expect him to make a breakthrough next season, but will step up to the big kids soon. Saw the Parlaiment Channel late last need when it was NI Questions. Most of the MP's were not wearing a poppy, so Eire/Shaks will probably say the prods were wearing them and the nationalists were not. However it still angers as all of them will have lost family in those 2 wars and even the recent ones. They disrespect their own by having a go at Westminster. Mike I remember watching Jamie Forrester and thin king he was going to be awesome, especially in the Liverpool Leeds match in that youth cup. I remember the 3 big stars were Gallon (QPR) Fowler (Scouse) Forrester Leeds had young Jamie who was the most likely to succeed. he did score goals for fun but at a lower level all his career, and whatever happened to the scouse?
It's not the first time I have sided with Elland. Could be worse, it wasn't me who presumed you bat for Rome.
The Specials' open-air gig in Leeds the other night was quite a party, with sozzled fans of all ages singing along to Ghost Town and Gangsters. Or at least it was quite a party until singer Terry Hall decided to open his mouth and put his foot in it. "Thanks very much for Cantona," he told the crowd, referring to Leeds United's 1992 sale of the legendary French forward to Manchester United (Hall's team – he's from Coventry, of course). It probably doesn't need saying that Cantona went on to do rather well for Man Utd. Suddenly, a shower of coins hit the stage. A nasty situation was narrowly avoided when the Special hurriedly added "It was a joke!" Hall has a track record in this area, and once similarly risked a lynching in Leeds by taking the mick out of their result against Mansfield.
Totally agree Best anti-war song ever written was by A Scot in Australia, Eric Bogle - ignore the Pogues version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=471-ucVd7o0
Evening all, Fair play to the fallen in the great war, To all the wall players aswell, nice plaque,TC, My great grandfather luckily survived, As for that prat saying scum stuff in leeds, Pity the crew didn't get him. Shako
Terry Hall has retired, he just hasn't realised it yet .. Montgomerie and Nasser have both renounced Leeds and are now Arsenal "supporters" Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Thank god Montgomerie has. Hes a pompous, obnoxious biased ignoramus. Adds nothing to any commentary and frankly I hated the fact he claimed to be a Leeds fan
Ive lots of friends and customers who are not. Personally, Im not really arsed about that stuff shaks. On the war veterans subject, Ive said my piece. I wonder though, how aware were the young lads in those wars of what was facing them. Im sure media coverage would have been scarce to say the least and almost certainly very biased on all sides
