I'd be willing to bet that if we had won that shootout and the play off final afterwards we would not be 2nd in the Premier League right now! Short term pain but long term gain.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MTS_Oceanos Wikipedia page. Even worse than I remembered...no alarm or instructions were given before the crew abandoned ship. Passengers only found out when the decks were flooding.
I don't recall that at all.... but they saved all 571 passengers. Shocking behavior by the Captain and his line of "When I order abandon the ship, it doesn't matter what time I leave. Abandon is for everybody. If some people like to stay, they can stay" - Jeez! No mention of his punishment or trial though.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-30000934 Jesus Christ! A 1,996 calorie burger! That's 98% of a woman's recommended DAILY calorie intake!
That's a fairly active woman. If a person is in any way sedentary, ie, they work at a desk or are in an office job, that caloric figure was always recommended much lower, somewhere around 1200-1500. Or are all the women that much bigger and taller these days..?
So, after writing for the programme for a month or so now, I've been invited to attend Southend United's game against Hartlepool United on Saturday in the press box on club duty, writing the official match report for the next programme and the club website, as well as being involved in the post-match media.
I did say it was sedantry, ie. relatively inactive women. I realise that individual only exists in the male of the species. Of course, if you want to lose weight and are active, 1200 calories a day would take it off you quite nicely. I once went on a diet of 400 calories a day for 2 weeks. I lost a stone and half. It all went back on eventually, but it took 2 years to do it, so I considered that 2 weeks time well spent. It wouldn't do me any harm at all to do the same nowadays.
