The attacking midfielder was last month linked with a loan move to Leeds United by reports in Italy, and is struggling to hold down a first team place. He was withdrawn after 72 minutes in the 1-0 home defeat to Napoli to jeers from the home crowd and just a yellow card to show for his display. The attacking midfielder is 26 years old, and signed for Fiorentina Summer 2013 costing them 7.7m plus add ons. Sam Byram is being tipped for an England U21 call up after successfully completing two whole games with consistent performances. Thoughts? Kalvin Phillips has been impressive this season for the development team. The 18 year old midfielder came close to making squad at Cardiff recently He grabbed a brace in the 3-3 draw with Forest yesterday. It's great to see the kids rise from the academy.
Morning Elland. Whatever happened to that young Irish lad? Thought he might have appeared either for the development squad or on the bench for the 1st team given that some while ago, he was knocking in goals left, right and centre. On yet another attacking Italian midfielder, let's make use of those we've got first before bringing in anyone else.
Morning Elland, Nice tribute there Dont give Byram a call up, let him get his mind set on LS 11 and keep his position at RB No more midfielders for me atm,
Oh dear. Like a number of our squad that can't currently make the bench or the starting XI, possibly time for a loan spell to get game time and see what he can do.
Horning All Great tribute Elland. Hundreds of thousand gave their tomorrow so we could have our today. It rather puts football into perspective. If you get the chance please take two minutes at 11.00 to reflect on those who gave their everything for us.
As Leeds United wasn't even formed till after The Great War had finished, maybe you can honour the brave Millwall players instead please log in to view this image
**** knows mate, I'm in rainy Andover. Currently plucking up the courage to do the beer run in this weather! Gonna do my Twp minutes of respect first I think.
Morning all Great tribute thanks Elland, and well said Glory As for matters Leeds, we surely don't need another attacking midfielder? I'd say our midfield needs a bit of consistent steel adding to it if anything, allowing some of our more creative players to get on and do their stuff. (The role we all imagined Austin would fill, for example)
Huddersfield Town coach Steve Thompson continues to be linked with neighbours Leeds United as Elland Road head coach Neil Redfearn closes in on the appointment of an assistant. The pair played together at Bolton Wanderers, and Thompson, joint first-team-coach with Steve Eyre, has been linked with a reunion ever since Redfearn was made Leeds’ third team chief this season on November 1. Thompson, 50, had a decade coaching at Blackpool before departing Bloomfield Road last February.
We have enough midfielders. I'd love to see a natural goalscorer, though I do like Doukara and Antenucci. Don't think Sharp has a future at Elland Rd. I was amazed that we signed him.
