I think he takes it a little far tho. He complains about the lack of black managers yet I can't think of one that is actually amazing. Powell is a good manager, but needs to prove himself at Huddersfield. The real problem is the lack of black people wanting to manager and do the courses. I have done a few coaching course ( the first two) and there was only one black person there. Yes making it so a black person has to be interviewed may mean more will do the courses, but there will still be a huge skill gap.
I meant knows his stuff generally. Not just the lack of black managers subject. Also knows a damn fine striker when he sees one - Pelle. Loved his conviction that Pelle's goal against QPR was class and goal of the season [striker's club..!]. It didn't even make goal of the month, though I agreed with JR.
Never really liked him tbh. Least he isn't as crazy as the other guy tho "you don't see a black player in centre midfield because he isn't trusted". The guy didn't really think about what he said tbh, I can think of a few black cm without really trying.
Yeah, that is a laugh. Off the top of my head I can think of more quality black midfielders than anyone else, especially defending and holding midfielders.
I spent much of an evening sitting on a sofa talking to David about the new album (yes, huge name drop, but hey) - there was a point where Fable was going to do some BVs on the album. He said that if people were expecting a 'new' Floyd album they'd be disappointed - it's more a series of reflections and a thank you to Richard Wright. Quite a lot of lingering, ambient tunes. And no, they won't be playing live again. That is definitely it (for Floyd as a whole anyhow).
The other major thing that gets overlooked each time this discussion comes around is that a large proportion of managers in the UK are ex-players. This means they have retired from playing some time in the past 10-30 years most likley. And it was not so many yeas ago (15ish?) that a very large proportion of all players were white - therefore the current pool of coaching/managerial talent has that same proportion. You cannot expect the proportion of black managers to immediately mirror the proportion of players - that will naturally follow around 10-15 yeras later

Anyone remember the Greek captain and crew who abandoned a listing ship leaving only a British entertainments officer as the only senior crew member on board. He saved many people in an action including climbing a derrick to reattach a radio aerial. People were rescue by helicopter. I have never understood why that wasn't made into a film.
