need a LB a CB and DFM plus CF with any two being strong verbal leaders When our skipper goes missing when Rose marks the winger on his outside then we have more than a simple problem we also must get a leader in defensive coaching
There used to be a lot of Scots who were natural leaders you could call on.Not sure about that today as the Scottish League seems pretty pathetic.
Don't start Spurf off again! Having thought about the OP's point (don't ask me why), I think that the opposite might actually be true. We've actually got leaders, but they lead by example in laziness and generally pissing about and having a poor attitude. Probably not what he meant, though.
We don't need Hoddle back. Well whatever happens let's hope for improvement from now on. Could be things will come right.
Let me start off in a positive way. Gordon Strachan is entirely the kind of manager we should go for. Has all the abilities including how to deal with idiot questions from the media. Scotlands football is in a poor state quality wise, although there are signs of youngsters coming through. There has been a lot of investment in indoor football facilities for the young recently. Look what Stachan has managed to do with the National team with little available to him in terms of star quality. He's even got Hutton playing decent football.
To be fair to Spurf I can see why he's saying what he's saying. Though it's total bollocks, obviously. We just look to be in a way when you want an old hand, someone who has clear ideas and can tell defenders how to defend, midfielders how to tackle and pass, forwards how to make runs. Someone who will play a simple system that the players will understand (one where, for instance, Danny Rose and Kyle Naughton do not represent the sum total of our entire attacking threat in wide areas - oh whilst also being defenders somehow). Someone who will come in and say "Right - I reckon this is my back 4. I reckon this is roughly my first eleven and this guy can stay and this guy can stay and you lot can all leave". But the bottom line is that changing manager now is around about the most absurd thing that a Spurs fan could want.
