There is an interesting poll in todays mirror, re: Patrick Roberts, and in gossip section of BBC sport .
If it is, there's also talk today about clubs being after George Williams. "The likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Everton and West Ham are all thought to be monitoring Williams' situation and are expected to keep an eye on his progress ahead of this weekend's crucial Euro 2016 qualifier with Belgium." Source: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11685/9559560 As we know George's contract is up in summer 2015. Why the Club have done nothing about that is beyond me.
It also baffles me Cottager, we seem to give extended contracts to the wrong people Trotta being an example.
It's more likely to be the agent. They turn down longer contracts or extensions in favour of short ones in the hopes of just this situation, then their player isn't tied to a club too long term and they can engineer a big money move (for them as well as the player).
