The number one liverpool fan site world wide used to believe he was the new shanks. As representatives of the broader fan base we must take their views as gospel and never question what they say. Now of course liverpools number one fan site wants him out. Some want him dead but none stooped so low as to call him a ***got like some gimp on here
You personally no and I never said as such, neither did I mention anoyone in particular on here, kopites in general did and you know it.
The biggest lfc fan site did and thats good enough. Tbh i suspect most of you would uave cringed at the images used when comparing shankley and rodgers. Theres one where shankley and paisley are in a cloud looking down on rodgers, rodgers says 'how my doing' and they say 'great' or something like that. Even i shuddered.
He needed to buy better quality experienced (not young) players to fit in. And fewer so that there are as little disruption as possible. A more savvy and experienced manager would NOT have done what he did for the Real match. In resting not only Gerrard, but also Henderson and Sterling and Balotelli, he did something that no manager in England playing any top side in Europe would even think of doing. Someone should have taken him aside and warned him not do it. It is beside the point whether some fans think that those who played were better than the rested ones. He RESTED key players for a very big CL match and he will not be forgotten for doing that. The major injury is to Sturridge. To what extent he will work well on his own or/and with Balotelli remains to be seen.
I'll be honest, the league title, while mathematically still possible, is looking a bit beyond us right now...
Totally agree, not sure if any of us expected a title challenge this season. Top 4 is the target,so we are very much still in the frame
Utd also have very narrow minded biased sites, all teams do You and Tobes using RAWK crap as a stick to somehow beat us with is getting very tiresome to say the least. You're ruining threads, did we say this stuff? No, so if you continue to post it like thats what we think then you may as well just piss off our board WTF has whats posted on RAWK got to do with here>
Anyway, back on track... I think come Summer if there's no improvement, he'll be sweating on his job. He's had to deal with losing Suarez and then having Sturridge injured who were both (as a partnership and individually) massive for our club last season, which is tough for anyone to manage, however he's not bought well at all and even with the squad he has, he has shown he has no clue on what players to start. We still have plenty of very young and talented players who fit in to his philosophy but he's choosing to stick with the 'experienced' dross who are weighing us down. Shove Gerrard, Johnson and Balotelli on the bench. Start with Moreno, Manquillo, Toure (until Sakho is back) and Lovren; Can, Henderson and Coutinho; Sterling, Borini (until Sturridge) and Lallana. Get some ****ing energy, workrate and pace back into the team. That's what this team should be built on. Rodgers I hope will be given time because he did well last season Suarez aside with the improvements he shown in several of our players and a clean attacking playstyle which worked even without Luis. But he's got to change, quickly. The board won't be as patient as we are willing to be for him imo.
I agree to a certain extent. Sterling is being 'managed' so as not to burn out, Balotelli hasn't been firing, Gerrard hasn't got the legs - so the only legitimate case is Henderson who there was no excuse for not starting. And why he isn't utilising Lambert/Lallana I have no idea. That game would have meant the world to Lambert who will probably not get another chance at playing at the Bernabeu - unless we qualify this season and draw them again [did I hear you say 'yeah right'?]
I totally disagree with you. What's the point in paying premium price for players who are now just looking for their last big pay day and will have little or no residual value in 2/3 years? As for the Madrid game. We were never going to win that match so your comment about what a more savvy and experienced manager would, or would not have done, is just way off the mark.
Sorry JB but as far as I am concerned, Henderson has been a leggy pale imitation of what he was last season. On his performances I wouldn't be starting him at all -let alone in Madrid!
