not posted in a while but always view the board and people views, was wondering what you all thought of this

tottenham striker Adebayor says he and his team-mates would rather play away from White Hart Lane at the moment because of the negative atmosphere generated by home supporters.
The Togo international, speaking after Spurs' 2-1 home defeat against Stoke on Sunday, reckons the crowd's reaction made the players afraid to take responsibility against the Potters.
Spurs have been beaten by West Brom, Newcastle and Liverpool at home this season and are currently 12th in the Premier League table.
"I think it might be better to play away from home at the moment because at least we know beforehand we are guaranteed to be booed because they want their home club to win," he says.
"But when you are playing at home and your own fans start booing you after a few minutes then it is harder."

just sums the current crop up imo, no responsibility and trying to shift the blame, these are well paid footballers that have all shown skill at some point in their careers and instead of moaning they should all be working their butts off to try and restore some pride at our club

He's the main reason fans are booing, big streak of piddle. Losing at home is a trend we have to break and soon.

If they took responsibility and put things right, they wouldn't get booed

We were warned by Arsenal supporters that he's a prat.

I'd have a lot more sympathy for our highest paid player and vice captain if he seemed to give a toss about the fans and the club when things aren't going his way.

    http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/foo...understand-what-pochettino-wants-9851053.html

In this article (the full interview the OP was referring to I think) Ade says he was happy when he was on loan in 2011 because we were doing well. Well Ade, maybe we'd do well now if you pulled your finger out and played like the player we know you can be. Players won't get booed if they have the respect of the fans. Ade has never had that and has never given respect back, we all knew even when things were going well for him here that he could throw his toys out of the pram at any time. Respect of the fans is earned by effort on the pitch first and foremost, not guaranteed by the club paying him lots of money.

He's definitely right about the players not wanting the ball and the manager needing time to settle, but he doesn't seem to connect this to the unhappiness of the fans.
People are shelling out enormous amounts of money to watch a bunch of players that aren't doing what they're paid to do and are bottling games repeatedly.
How happy would he be in their position?

Too many footballers nowdays are entirely disconnected from reality.

Why did you all cream yourselves when he was appointed, was I the only one who saw this coming? Remember how he didn't score for seven matches, scored one and then went missing again? I said he wasn't an AVB type of player and I'm supposed to be clueless.

I don't think that anyone creamed themselves over Pochettino's appointment. I'm pretty sure that there was a poll prior to it and he didn't do well.

Footballers need to learn to shut up, get off Twitter and out of the press spotlight and realise what a privilege it is to have such a great career doing something most people would give anything to have whilst earning a bloody good living at the expense of the fans. To have a pop at paying supporters for being unhappy at a lack of desire, commitment and backbone is just typical of this generation of spoilt brats. We don't need players like Ade at our club. This sentiment from senior players just filters down to the younger kids so the sooner it's eradicated, the better.

Yep, the overall consensus was very indifferent which is pretty much what our form is of late... unsurprisingly.

Adebayors' name was booed when the teams were announced prior to kick off yesterday.
He was also heavily booed in my area when he came on in the 2nd half.

  15. I've never wanted Adebayor at our club. He proved himself to be a complete and utter tool whilst at Arsenal and £ity, why did anyone of us expect that things would magically be different at Spurs?

He's saying what he's saying because he knows full well what's coming, especially his way, for having been so ****e for so long.

While I agree with the analysis above there is no doubt that the team would perform better if people cheered all our players rather than booed them. If you want to see Spurs win why do things that help prevent that?

i don't condone booing your own players, something i wouldn't do,but not booing won't help them win things, something is wrong in the squad, can't be arsed ,is one of them

I think fans can accept (with gritted teeth) results not going our way as long as the players show 100% commitment. Thats not happening. Too few players are willing to even pretend they care. It has also come to the point that IMO the booing and general dissatisfaction around the ground is as much a symptom of disillusionment with Levy et. al. in the face of rising ticket prices, lack of significant investment, StubHub, stadium issues etc. as it is directed at the players' lackadaisical performances.

If players like Ade are hearing boos around the ground and thinking "this is making me unhappy, I want out" rather than "what can I do to make this stop" then it is best if they leave anyway.

  19. "Lazy, ineffective striker slams fan-critics" shocker!

Anyway, I suspect that the boos are as much aimed at Levy and the board, as any of the players.

I must say I didn't hear that or any booing when he came on. The only name I heard being booed when the teams were announced was Charlie Adam.
