I don't believe it really. Solid defensively, not many chances, but chances taken. Learning from past mistakes against players who have unlocked us before like Anichebe?

What's wrong with us? Why are we doing this? Stop it now. lol.

Well done to the players, well done to Pardew. You cannot deny his tactics have played a role in this.

    Ratings -

Krul - 7 - Not too much to do in terms of saves, but his control of the box and positioning was good, and his distribution is decent.

Janmaat - 8 - Starting to look a lot more comfortable, and has been a constant threat to us going forward all season. Two great assists.

Dummett - 7.5 - Well played in CB.

Colo - 8 - Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllll. Cracking game for the bloke and great goal.

    Haidara - 7 - Solid enough.

Abeid - 7 - Did well at CM. A bit more composure at times would help though.

Colback - 7 - Worked hard, good pressure and defending.

Cabella - 7 - Still getting used to the pace and power of the PL, but played a part in the lead up to the first goal, and whipped in some good deliveries.

Sissoko - 6.5 - Good work rate, lacked finesse though. Still, did well defensively.

Sammy - 6.5 - Unlucky not to score. Some good skill and attacking at times, but exposed defensively, and didn't do enough at times.

Perez - 7 - Great goal, unlucky not to have another. Not too animated and still trying to time those runs but just a bit too slow to read situations sometimes.

Raylor - n/a - Glad to see him back and looks like he can still whip in some cracking balls when needed.

    Willo - n/a

MOTM - I'm going for Janmaat. Two assists and continues to be a threat going forward. Good defensively also.

Perez and Abeid should get at least an 8.

Abeid's positional play for someone of his age is incredible. Perez scored a world class goal and worked tirelessly too. Dummett is much better at CB than LB for me.

All round a very good team performance.

Janmaat is a big upgrade on Debuchy too.

Perez was superb. Not just his classy goal, but his constant work rate as the lone striker. I think he will become a great signing for us.

Abeid put in another good show, but agree he sometimes makes the wrong choice of pass. But overall, he looks solid.

    Janmaat was immense again. Quality.

Colo got done over a couple of times, but overall had a great game -capped off by that goal.

Sissoko & Colback worked really hard and (along with Abeid) didn't let their midfield settle.

    Dummy is improving.

The only negative for me was Cabella. Bar two or three glimpses of quality, his overall game was poor and he gave them possession far too much.

Great to see Raylor coming on though - along with the obligatory chanting from the Toon Army!

Spot on ref janmaat, I said the same earlier he is better going forward and at the back tbf all the new lads are starting to settle in.
Perez is still young and the English game will improve his physical game and we could end up with a real gem till fat mike sells him

A win today is as big as any of our previous 4 in this run. This is real momentum now. Loving it.

We would give you more of a game now but the way you have been playing you'd probably still get the three points. I had you down as certs to struggle. I'm not one of those who thinks it is inevitable you will drop down the league. no reason at all you can't stay right where you are in my opinion.

This!!! Well, at times... What has happened to Sammy? He used to be bambi-esque, now he's just brilliant. He took on 4 baggies defenders, tricked it past 3 of them, then won a free-kick from the 4th <yikes>

Cabella is frustrating. Not got quick enough decision making at times, but is a useful cog to play a good passing game. Reminds me of myself playing basketball with his passes and dribbled though. Scoring two in a row is easy, but whatever happens, I'm missing the third. Same with Cabella. If he's dribbled past two, or made two brilliant give-and-goes, the third in the sequence is ALWAYS giving the ball away stupidly. He has neat feet, though.

Janmaat well worth MOTM, Colo again excellent, class finish by Perez, and everybody else did their jobs. But it's only West Brom. I watched them over recent weeks and I'm worried for them, they are absolutely league 1 in most respects. They're good players have aged, and Brunt and Morrison can't score screamers every week to bail them out.

Berahino is not a great player, if I were them I'd sell and sell high in January. He's scrapped in a couple of goals, but he's got less presence up front than Perez. I can see him going on another long spell of not-scoring, and as soon as he does that, his only worthwhile comparison with a Liverpool forward becomes obvious... BALOTELLI.

A suddenly spirited QPR will give us a much tougher test guys, trust me. I'd take a draw right now.

<laugh> Lull us into a fall sense of security all you want. I've seen a string of the better teams play you recently and deserve nothing, so I think it'll be a hard game. Pardew is getting the plaudits because we've got points from the games, but QPR have had a bigger resurgence (when they looked dead, buried and not at all interested), they just have been on the end of poor decisions and not had the luck.

I wish that was the case Bubba. But you was down below us and now you're eighth whereas we're still 2nd bottom. Our performances have picked up but I'd take your actual resurgence ahead of our potential resurgence any day.

I said to the blokes wot post on our Board that you is going to be a harder game than City. We've lost all our away games so far.

I fink you Geezers are gonna be well up for it :)

I kind of agree with JPF <yikes> OMG! I've been 'turned'!

I think many will now be simply assuming we must beat you at home after our recent run. It will not be so straight forward. No game in the Prem is that predictable any more. I'm fully expecting a decent scrap from your guys - especially BarToon. <ok>

Dummett was at least an 8 for me, as were Colback and Abeid. Indeed Colback was close to MOTM for me. Probably that Janmaat though, his class is starting to show and the bloke is a beast. Reminds me of Gary Neville at his best in the way he sets out to make whoever he is up against want to go home and cry. Then he has quality on top. I think 7 for Haidara is generous. He did ok but is a bit sloppy in possession. Have to say I was impressed with Sissoko. 7/10 for me and this is the kind of effort we need from him when its not quite his day. He needs to become a blue chip with the ability he has.

Cabella still spends far too much time grazing like a cow for my liking. Stay on your ****ing feet! He falls over a lot. That said he was better in possession and is showing signs of ability with his quick feet.

    Sammy a 7 for me.

    Krul 7
    Janmaat 8
    Colo 8
    Dummett 8
    Haidara 6
    Abeid 8
    Colback 8
    Sissoko 7
    Sammy 7
    Cabella 6
    Perez 8

Don't go agreeing with him too quick!

Look, the standings four games ago were:

    Newkie - pld 7 - 18th - PTS: 4
    QPR - pld 6 - 20th - PTS: 4

    Now they're:

    Newkie - pld 11 - 8th - PTS: 12
    QPR - pld 11 - 19th - PTS 8

Alas its clear one team has had a resurgence and the other ain't..............................................................................yet

To be fair, 4 points from 5 is better than 4 points from 6 - so it is a sort of resurgence <whistle>
