He looked very good going forward. Very quick and wasn't phased by the occasion. Might be a gem in the making.

He shouldn't drop Bartley is the answer valley - it's up to Fernandez and Amat to work even harder to get back into the team now. Fernandez took his chance when Amat got injured and now Bartley has taken his opportunity now that Fernandez is injured. It would knock Bartley's confidence if Monk didn't pick him for the next game now.

    Really pleased for Bartley

Agree Bartley had a good game, and took his chance so should keep his place.

Too right Beppe, He's green but looks an exellent prospect; I'd give him everything he needs to make the first team. A star in the making imo <ok>

We have some strong competition for places at last. Bartley didn't put a foot wrong, Amat back from injury. Fernandez playing very well, Ash better watch out.

Central/defensive MF: Leon, the compact and reliable Carroll, Ki and Shelvey.
AM: Personally I'd push Shelvey up the field now, where imo he's a much better player anyway, to compete with Siggy; who's fast becoming our best buy ever imo, after a couple of misfires early on in the season. We have Emnes spanning AM and flanks.
Wing: Montero, Barrow, Routledge, Dyer, Emnes.

All of the above to feed Bony and our goal scoring machine Gomis.

Just need to strengthen full back, imo, to cover Rangel and Taylor. Tiendalli's still hit'n'miss and our local boy Jazz doesn't seem to be getting a look in.

With today's selection, it certainly was a very good day for Arsenal to play us but, our tactics, preparation and personnel were all superb. A truly wonderful result for us

I think we answered this proposition in the affirmative. Arsenal had some key players out, but still had a load of talent on the field and the bench. We were missing our World Cup final Argentine CB and a regular midfield player. We came from behind, which showed great character and organization and discipline. We beat Arsenal and the ref.

Bartley looked comfortable and in control despite this being his first Prem start in a long, long while. Carroll combined well with Ki .... Shelvey, for me, you're not an automatic pick. Carroll and Leon to duke it out to play beside Ki - this can only be a huge plus for us. Montero is a full back killer. And, Barrow is somebody I'd persevere with on the right side.

At CB, I think everybody's position is up for grabs ... including Ash. We have an overload of quality in that position and I'd be happy seeing any combination starting for us. In fact, I'd like to Amat on the field somewhere - at CB, FB or DM - more likely FB now that Leon is back.

BTW, Leon looked sharp when he came on.

I think Southampton, West Ham and Swansea fans are all a bit bemused by the current EPL table.

Montero MOTM today. It was like night and day compared to last week when i thought he was poor. Siggy a close second for MOTM.

For me, Emnes and Montero are likely to pose more threat out wide than Dyer and Routs at the moment and I'd even put Barrow ahead of Dyer. He looks very promising.

Agree with most that CB is a bit of a 'good' problem. Rangel and Taylor are iffy at times although Taylor has improved the last 2 games. Wondering if either of our CBs could play RB or LB....my thought is that they might lack pace but might be worth a shot.

Either way, a very good team effort today and a well deserved 3 points. Hopefully we can maintain the momentum and belief this will give the team after the international break.

I've just seen Arsenal's goal for the umpteenth time. And yes, Bony made a bad pass, but it was deep in the Arsenal half, this does not an opportunity make.

What happened next is critically important. Taylor, in the Arsenal half, missed a tackle, turned and was still level with the ball, then Arsenal broke forward and instead of busting a gut to get back and be in position he jogged - I wish I could call it a run, but he went from level with the ball to 20 yards behind it and actually slowed down at one point in "getting back". He arrived in our box as the ball hit the back of the net.

I don't know what he thought he was supposed to do in that situation, but dawdle back giving Arsenal a 4 v 3 advantage in and around our box was not it. Too lazy, too tired, switched off, lost interest, too ???? I don't know what the problem is but what happened is not acceptable. This is not the first time this season he has failed to keep up with the opposition's breaking out and not making best effort to get back. IMO we need a different person at this position.

Ref did his best to let arsenal back into the game. Only blew up after arsenal had completed their attack. Perfect view of penalty shout. Bony may have made most of push but still a foul. Monk coud fill another dvd after that match....even think the gylfi free kick should have included a yellow card.
