My money was on Levy long before he appointed AVB, and I really have seen nothing that forces me change my view. Sure, the players need the guidance of a good manager, but I refuse to believe that all of AVB, Sherwood, and Poch are that bad that they cannot get this team to play football. And if they are all that bad, that only makes Levy more incompetent than I had previously given him credit for. As for the players, yes, we have spent a lot of money on some real duffers, but is our squad man-for-man any worse than the Spanners or Saints? I refuse to accept that. We are not playing together as a team, and whether that is to do with the coaching, the manager, or the system, I don't know. I suspect the problem is more complex than meets the eye, but I simply will not accept that all of this is down simply to Poch. Never have I wished more for a sugar-daddy to come and buy us, so that Levy and his cronies can have their arses booted down the Lane!
Said it for ages now... we've consistently failed to deliver based on poor decision making time and time again. A fish rots from the head and its time people woke up to what the real common denominator is. It isn't the manager this time or that time. It runs through our club and it needs to be sorted out as soon as possible. Teflon Boy is out of excuses now. His position is becoming increasingly untenable and frankly, it was a long time coming.
It must be your squad, because you've had some half decent managers, including the current one. Mind you, you also have some half decent players. So I'm guessing that you have too many big time Charlies.
Oh ,I think the Southampton balloon will lose air soon, but it's nice to see them having a mad five minutes like Fat Sam!
Good luck to the Saints, I say. You must be doing something right. I wanted Koeman, but was shouted down by nearly everyone. What the hell do I know, eh! There are still some that will tell me, "Yeah, but HIAG, Koeman is going to be a one-season wonder." Really? Well that's still one ****ing season more than Poch!
1) levy....took him from 2001 to 2005 to get a manager choice right...jol gives us our 3 highest prem finishes including 2 5th places. He is then sacked and replaced with the flavour of the month in ramos in the most disgusting manner. Then a year later has to get another manager who gives us top 4 finishes and is tgen replace with avb who spectacularly failed with chelsea. Predictably enough he is sacked 18 month later and we have yet another plash in the pan manager. On top of this he refuses to buy the players the manager wants. 2) the players...seriously ... how hard is it to try? 3) who ever controls transfers...why sell defoe and not replace him leaving us with a rookie, a player who choses when he will or won't try and a player who can not score? Why sell Dawson and replace him with poorer players? Why sell siggy and keep the dross? Why get rid of holtby when we have so few players willing to play a pressing game? 4) the manager...seriously ... play 2 strikers and wide players...your version is not working
Offloading Holtby for the season is looking more and more like a mistake. But there were loud voices on this forum suggesting he was surplus to requirements......... Add in Dawson and Sandro and that's a lot of 'commitment' lost from the squad. Makes the absence of Stombouli from the starting lineup looking even more bizarre - from what I have seen of him on video he is an all action, in-your-face, hard tackling DM. Geez - we could have done with one of those today!!
The entire MF today was AWOL - Capoue was woeful, Eriksen ineffective and lightweight, Mason busy but inexperienced, Dembele dreadful - and barely a decent pass from any of them all afternoon. If you add in Townsend and his failure to control even the simplest pass and there is an argument that we needed 5!!
You should put "the fans" as an option on that poll. Levy is the absolute cause but the fact spurs fans haven't marched on the gates of WHL for what that spiv has done to your club over the last 5-6 years makes you far more to blame. But it's ok he's got you all mesmerised, always giving him kudos about the money he makes selling your best assets that you can't even see he's a fcking charlatan. Good luck to you but as fans you deserve Levy and your (mis)fortunes.
As the comments on this thread, and those on radio-phone-ins from disgruntled fans who went to the match today amply demonstrate, this comment is entirely incorrect. But good try, though.
Comments on a forum Radio phone ins Levy must be quaking in his boots...or is that counting the pounds in his purse? Spurs fans make me laugh. Good luck, though.
You're level with Liverpool and Everton, a win or less behind Arsenal and Utd and only two wins behind City. Of last season's top seven only Chelsea are dancing to a different tune. I'm not pretending it's all rosy (no reference to 'Arry intended), but it's not that bad either.
Whatever I or anyone thinks of the Glazers we have had arguably our greatest period of success during their tenure. But if trying to turn this into a tit for tat contest makes you feel happy, knock yourself out. Doesn't change the fact you might moan about Levy but in the end suck it up and carry on being mugged off like you have been.
