I still think we should be doing better with the players we have. It's just the manager and players are making wrong decisions and playing poorly.
Nope, I've said I think there's multiple things we can do to deal with the problem but that there are some gaps in our squad that we could do with filling. Of course I think a cb and dm being signed in January would help us improve defensively. I can't imagine there's anyone on the forum who disagrees with that. But I also think we can work on the numbers of players we throw forward in attack when we don't need to. On keeping a better shape and getting players back to defend quicker. I think we can try different players e.g. Not monreal at cb. Like I said there are several things we should be working on and trying to improve.
I suppose I should of said lacked the physicality rather than size to play effectively at CB! Edit: though I also think he lacks the mentality and doesn't look comfortable when the ball is in the air.
Exactly, the art of being a good centre back is reading the game, look at Hummels, slow as a week in the jail but was probably the best centre back in the world before his injury last season. Attacking full backs make it in the game for their engines, they dont tend to have the brains to play centre back.
I agree I think wenger needs to try something different, our attempts to cover for injured players has so far not been great. And I think the players keep letting themselves down with silly decisions on the pitch.
Of course not.. He was playing a man who wasn't a CB at CB again after he struggled last game. Took ages to make changes and carried on attacking when we should have shut up shop. We didn't move Chambers after he was getting continuously roasted on the right. Not buying a CB when Vermaelen left was just piss poor in my opinion. Just highlights the mistakes Wenger is continually making nowadays.
We can go on about what needs to improve, but until Wenger leaves, things will remain as they are, is any of this new? Let's not act like what's happening is not the norm, everything we are currently seeing is exactly what we have seen before, there's nothing really odd about what's happening. Nothing will change as long as Wenger remains as manager, it's going to be another scrap for 4th place which we will probably get, and Wenger will go on patting himself on the back on a job well done. This routine season after season has become so boring as well as frustrating. I hope to God we don't have to put up with another 3 of Wenger.
If anyone watched the Dortmund game there, Klopp showed how it should be done when results are needed and you go one up Despite their domination of the game, attacking firepower and philosophy, he made changes early to make sure they seen it out.
I'd much rather discuss what we can do differently, what we've done well, what hasn't worked, what has etc... Rather than just rant about getting rid of the manager all the time. It's very frustrating at the moment but all the calling for wengers head is boring, it's far more interesting to discuss the football
ok . Lets look at point one . WE cant do anything different because we dont manage the team so thats irrelevant . Unfortunately , the only man who can do something different , never does anything different . Point two : see point one .
We can talk about what needs to change football wise, but the reason you have to bring Wenger up is because he's the one who makes it happen at the end of the day, and he just doesn't. He persists for the most part to his same ways that aren't working, getting rid of Wenger can allow for the changes in the football approaches you want to see that can improve us. Wenger needs to go for us to improve, and anyways for his sake he has to go because he is losing more and more of support base with each passing game, there is absolutely no way he will be able to remain at the club for another 3 years with the state of affairs as they currently are, the fans aren't going to stick with it and the dissent will be notable in the stadium.
Good game lads pretty even until you had us on the counter attack, but you let us fry chambers, and it was inevitable that Montero was going to get an assist to win the game!.......... I like AW by the way, one of the best managers the Premier league has ever had, by the way we should have had a nailed on penalty first half, is Phill Dowed an Arsenal supporter?......
