After watching QPR play so well yesterday, and getting the very least that we deserved from the game, I wondered if my luck could continue!

    Thankfully it has!

As most of you may know or have guessed from my username - I do judo!

Today, I (at long long last) won my black belt! To win it you need 100 points which you can get by beating other brown belts who are going for their black belt like I was. This morning I had 97, and thankfully today I won 2 fights from 2 to take me to 117 points!

That was my aim when I first started judo, and 13 years later it has finally been achieved!

Its been a brilliant weekend for sure!:smile:

Judo, from what I remember, you're still a young whippsnapper... Do you have a chance from transitioning from carrying the Olympic torch to participating in the Games? I'd guess with a black belt, you must be one of the top 1% in the country now?

Well done mate. I did Karate for a few years but didn't have the perseverance to go all the way. That's a big achievement what you've just done.

    Nice one <ok>

Thanks everyone for the congratulations - much appreciated! It has been a long journey!

    Yes, 24, so young-ish :)

I don't think there is much chance of the Olympic Games to be honest! Judo olympians are involved in the England set up and attend regular events to get ranking points - something which I am not part of unfortunately! When you start on that road its normally at a much younger age than I am, so thats probably passed me by!

Not sure what % of the judo players in the country I am in now, but it must be a small % figure!

Well done Judo, been a long time I've known you and its rightly deserved.
Having done Martial arts for nearly 20 yearsof and on, i know exactly how much hard word it takes to achieve "a credible" Black belt.

    Congrats mate, keep it up.
PS, Still reckon i could "ave ya"... <laugh>

Thanks again everyone for the support!

;) Cheers mate, I remember many times where you have asked about my progress, and when I will be getting a black belt - so finally I can answer that question! So pleased to have got over the line!

Haha, making a statement like that not only from behind your computer, but also all the way from Australia! Definitely best to challenge a black belt somewhere you can't be reached! :emoticon-0102-bigsm:grin:
