I watched the game yesterday and was very impressed with Cooper and this started me thinking I have been saying he reminds me so much of Paul Madeley can he become another one? I know that Beluscoli will be back at Blackburn and I know he puts a lot of effort into his game .I have been saying we need more steel into midfield well why not, whilst we have this break, try Cooper into a defensive mid field role I think the lad would be more than capable of playing that role another thing that stood out yesterday was lack of penetration on the left wing going forward we had nobody fulfilling that role Redders stated to Popey that he may bring in one or two new faces lets hope these are wingers because the balance of the side is still lopsided What do you think am I talking tosh as usual ! Still it was a very good first half but we must improve our second half performances its all to play for nobody is going to walk this league
I'd keep it as it is, Bellusci will have to wait his turn Cooper looks a better player to me. He may even bring out the best in Pearce. To me yesterday's line up was our strongest, I know it was only Blackpool and there are far more difficult games coming up, but the less changes there are the quicker they'll gel. Get them playing for the whole 90 minutes and we'll pick up the necessary points to finish mid table.
I'm impressed with Cooper, I think he will get better the more games he plays for us And why not try him in a defensive midfield role?
Think we're a bit short of quality CB's, and Cooper looks to be the best one, so I'd keep him there. Got Bianchi and Cook for defensive midfield Then again what the **** do I know?
Same here, I'm just trying to sound intelligent but I if I were Redders and he'd rather play someone else at CB, I'd try him in a defensive midfield role in a game we're bound to win, like the massacre of the Wallies in Feb , just an opinion
We probably have more CM players than any other team in this division, we also have less CBs than most so why use a decent one in a position where we do not need to. Just my opinion...
, I'd try him in a defensive midfield role in a game we're bound to win I dont think he will want to wait around that long and will probably have retired by then
Not going. It has gone. The slide has well and truly recommenced next stop league one. We can meet him when he comes up to watch them at Bratfud.
So gentlemen do you thimk I am right or wrong stop sitting on the fence I think Cooper can play in midfield he has no problem breaking out of defence should I write to Redders with my thoughts or not
Been saying for a little while that I'd drop Bellusci, if Cooper did play as well as you say then I would keep the defence as is. No need to change it. And for me, we have an excellent defensive midfielder in the making in Cook. Play him there, alternatively keep Bianchi there as he has done reasonably well although slightly inconsistent for my liking. Still gonna take a while to adapt I guess. In short I don't agree with playing Cooper in midfield
Interesting one. Cooper may well be a midfield prospect, but I think I'd prefer him to line up as CB. As you all know, I'm most certainly not Pearce's biggest fan, but he was probably our best player in the second half, and seemed to have an overall good partnership with Cooper. I think the partnership should remain for the time being. Bellusci may be better than either of them, but sitting out a number of games may go some way to convincing him that he needs to get a grip emotionally & avoid unnecessary cards. Incidentally, Ristac, we have more CBs that you realise. We have 6 !! As for the DM position, it's quite clear that Cook is a prospect. He does the job well. Watch him next time & think of that little scum barsteward Scholes. Cook did the dirty when he had to on Saturday. Not sure if he's modelled his game on Scholes, but they could have been twins. Check it out & let me know what you think.
Good post Mike .. Bellusci and Cooper as CBs, Pearce on bench to cover left back as well .. the key thing about this pairing is they can both break out of defence, and can both pick a pass, which means opposing teams are forced to press higher up to stop us playing from deep .. Pearce, for all his puff, is still a donkey who gets caught wrong side too often and then looks like a penalty waiting to happen .. if we had no DMs available then I would consider sticking Bellusci in front of the CBs for a game or two, but only in a genuine emergency Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Well thats another thought Billy but we all agree that Cooper must be a fixture now apparently Cellino kissed him after the game !
