So at what point (if any) will you be cool with Pardew?

For me he needs to have a reasonable season (10th will do for me) , stay out of controversy and continue to develop the young ones as he has been doing.
He'll always be the wrong guy for the job in my eyes for historical reasons but rome wasn't built in a day... it will take time for me.. and probably many fans to move to a truly comfortable place with him.
The team will always get our backing as long as they at least try.

Winning a trophy imo. Par for the course would probably be a consistent top 10 finish, but for all the **** he has put us through in the last 2 years, I now will only accept him if he exceeds expectations, rather than just meeting them.

Never, certain situations in life have no going back and this is one of them,as a newcastle manager to lose to sunderland once is not acceptable but to lose 3 on the bounce against arguably one of their weakest teams for me is enough.

There are loads of other reasons but for me this is the tip of the iceberg.

3 weeks do not make the **** over the last 24 months all go away unless you are narrow minded

A trophy overrides everything though, surely. Other than that I agree whole-heartedly.

A trophy but we all know he won't. A great season, perhaps 7th or 8th? No because we know after this little run we will end losing the next six probably culminating in the inevitable act of bottle jobbery against Sunderland.

We have won 3 League games on the spin and a cup game against Man City. Great but that doesn't wash away the bulls**t we fans have had to endure for the past Christ knows how many months. We have been so **** for ages given the amount of time he has had he was bound to put some sort of run together.

A good stretch of consistency (10plus games rolling assessment) ...PLUS ..playing how he has said he has ALWAYS intended/planned/wanted too.. (on the deck, front-foot attacking philosophy ...even if we lose some/quite a few ..Its highly unlikely we will ever compete with the top four so at least give it a go..and play football the Newcastle way... attacking with glory and snatching defeat from the jaws of victory on a regular basis)

2 weeks of OK/decent footy does not wash away the MONTHS of dross we have been subjected too

It's a sad fact how low our expectations have been suppressed over the last year or two..that the slightest indication of OK/decent/basic football has Pardew mentioned for manager of the month .. ( I know its a result based game..but seriously ..MoM after MONTHS of turgid clueless dross)

Mind you, it is good to be able to enjoy watching NUFC again, with a modicum of hope.. It was becoming a joyless, soulless, depressing chore this last 10 month

Probably when he grows a backbone....tells the fat one to **** off and stick his job as he walks off into the sunset never to be seen again (at least in these parts!)

I can't see this ever happening (he'll be pushed before he walks) so for the meantime the crowd is off his back which I guess is a win-win for all concerned.

Never had a great deal of trouble with Pardew.

He is a manager of average ability (his stats are in fact a bit better than average over the course of his career) and he tries hard.

He commits the occasional act of idiocy and his TV manner can be annoying.

He accepted the job description that Mike offered him and continues to fulfill it, difficult though it may be to have the consequence of getting something to work being that the key element to the solution is invairably sold.

Will he ever be one of those Warm Glow managers that people speak fondly of decades later ? No. But I seriously wonder how much any of the Pardew Out crowd think that a replacement manager will be able to improve things, given the aforementioned job description

Alan Pardew is a good manager and deserves a lot of credit for the way he's handled the situation this season.

Pardew has done very well to turn things around he deserves credit but let's hope he doesn't disappear up his own arse like he usually does and start messing around to much sigh subs etc.
