.Dean was a complete twat. As ever, totally biased in favour of the big club. His assistant missed that Aguero was offside for his first and the handball that followed. .Rangers are now a very competitive side, with everyone fighting for the cause. .Barton, the crazy header back to Green aside, made a very good return to the team. His late block from Ya Ya was sensational. He also gets us moving forward more than the pairing of Henry and Sandro. I'd start him alongside one of those two.....on form, probably Henry. .Isla and Yun are tremendously attacking fullbacks. They will both leave us a little exposed at times, especially Isla, but I think we'll just have to accept them for what they are. I really like them both, in particular Isla, who just wants to forage forward at every opportunity. .Dunne had another good game and there's not a CB in the World who wouldn't struggle against Aguero. .Vargas is an exceptional player and I simply love watching him play. He tired towards the end, but his link u play with Isla is superb. .Henry is a limited player, but absolutely vital in front of the back four. .OBZ and Austin have forged a very good partnership. Austin's confidence has gone through the roof and his movement is excellent. He could possibly get 15-20 goals this season if he continues in this vain. . Aguero is absolutely World class!! . Harry should have changed things once we went 2-1 up. OBZ could have gone off with Hoilett coming on to the left and Fer moving into the centre to give us an extra man in midfield for those last 15 minutes. . Caulker is not looking too great defensively. . Fer can't be played on the left. He's very good on the ball, but he doesn't have the work rate to play there. Yun gets terribly exposed at times. All in all, we have great cause for optimism going forward. It remains to be seen if Rangers can produce the same level of performance and intensity against the teams around them............Leicester, Burnley and WBA in the next 3 home games. It will be vital that we win those!!
Well said Col. Agree with all that Fer had his best game yesterday, he is good on the ball I think the team is more stable and it is showing I think Austin's success is very dependent on OBZ, as acknowledged in the photos of the two together yesterday. Austin relishes the little bit of freedom, playing alongside OBZ gives him. So my only change would be Joey for Sandro. But agree with you Col, we may have won...if Arry had made a change at 2-1....to be honest any change, may have done it (just broken up the flow)....but Hoillet for OBZ or Traore for Fer It was great yesterday But can we keep it going...I think with Joey coming back, we might just And I keep bleating on about it We are not the worst team in the division.....and at the moment we are playing well...but it is points against those close to us that matter Come on u RRRRR
I think you are both right, but it's alright being plucky losers against Liverpool chelski, and a point at home against the champions but we need to win our next 4 home games and perhaps sneak a cheeky point or two away in our next 4 away, 22 points by Jan will do.
I think Zamora is relishing playing with Austin and Vargas, he's getting a new lease of life and he's proving to be an inspired 'signing' for this season by Harry. He absolutely slaughtered DeMichelis and Mangala throughout the game, he'll be an asset against any team suspect in central defence and can give even the best centrebacks a hard time. Charlie must be made up playing alongside him and will be learning so much about the more physical side of a striker's job whilst cashing in on the supply he receives...
The two statements sit perfectly well alongside each other. I wanted Onuoha's pace against Aguero. Caulker looked the dodgier of our two CBs imo.
Not much to disagree with there Col. My apologies to yourself, Beth & Simon about my half time outbursts. To say I was livid with the decisions by Mr Dean & his partners in crime would be an understatement!
It's been a great run of games for us without too many points, against some good sides, showing we can compete with anyone, we take a lot of confidence going into the break. We have to keep this up for the next runs of games, the run up and across Xmas will be vital (obviously) for our survival and we certainly look up for it. Regrading Fer, I'd agree he doesn't look as good on the left and needs to play more centrally but I can't see a space for him in the middle, Jnr would make us more dangerous on the left. I think the Isla\Vargas combination is brilliant and Jnr\Yun could be just as good. This is no offence meant towards Fer, he has shown he can put the effort in and looks good on the ball but Holliet could just give that bit more as a winger, we need both side of the pitch to fire if we are going to play 2 DCM.
Agree with almost all your comments Col with the one exception of Henry. I am absolutely amazed how well he is playing againt the best teams in the land and as a defensive midfielder I can see very few limitations. A partnership with Barton seems on the cards.
No problem Terry.......It appears Mr Dean had it so right about the double-hit free kick (you know your rules Mr Dean) But so missed the handball.... So I am taking it as just one of those days....and the rub of the green will come to us See you at the next match Terry. I am sure we will be happier
I agree with the reservations expressed re Fer on the left. As much as I rate him, his defensive side is sorely lacking: time and again he left his man and didn't track back, leaving Yun horribly exposed at times. He drove my son and I nuts yesterday and not for the first time. Dare I say it, he seems a bit lazy....
Some great football played but agree we need to beat the teams around us as I would say we have raised our games against the last three big boys If he drops Henry for Barton we will lose at the moment
