Back in the early days of 606 a thread was created called 'Calling all Gooners'. A place for 606ers to come and share their thoughts, make friendships (regardless of the team that they supported) and post general inane chatter.
In a sea of meaningless articles written by clueless WUMS, the CAG was a place to call home, a place where the real 606ers would converge to share their random musings. It came to be one of the longest running threads on 606, easily surpassing it's 2000 comments boundaries and extending into new CAG threads that honoured the previous ones.
The CAG even had it's own resident WUMS....shot to pieces on a regular basis, and in true WUM style they came back again and again to be rinsed, spun and hung out to dry. Such was the appeal of the CAG.
The current incarnation of the CAG is still going strong here : http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A71213212
But the soon to be defunct BBC 606 site will finally put the nail in the coffin of the famous CAG thread. Help to keep it alive and honour it's longevity here.....on not606 !!!
