A masterpiece in creating and finishing, it was what was needed to beat Leicester who defended very well throughout. They didn't have anyone that could finish and that was their main downfall.
Thought Leicester defended very well today. Morgan was superb at the back, but they had no cutting edge. Vardy worked his socks off - would be interested to see how far he ran in the game today. But, they didn't supply him well. Think they could struggle.
Watched Match Choice...kept putting the ball in a dangerous place without being able to apply the final touch. We look a very good team....there is sometimes a thin line between scoring and missing. Leicester defended well, but constantly letting us have the ball back is an exhausting way to play football. Pelle had a good game and set up Long's first goal. He always looks dead at the end...he gives everything.
Just said on Sky that it is incredible to win 8/9 PL games, but especially achieving it by playing stylish football despite losing several players and having to integrate new ones.
What a stat this is... Since Southampton last conceded a league goal, 12,394,500 babies have been born. That's more than the population of Belgium.
Phil Neville says that actually, yes, Southampton can finish in the top four. We look good enough and have the depth - our start will only help.
Agree with that. Fonte was lucky and it is wrong that players need to go down to get a decision. That said..........result!

He's scored 5 goals in 10 starts and has a good conversion rate. The reason the goals have dried up for him is down to him getting no service..
