So far I'd give more credit to the back 4 than to Forster. He's done nothing wrong yet but he hasn't done anything mind boggling (although you could argue he hasn't had an opportunity to).
I suppose that he might be responsible for his part in organizing the back 4. He's certainly vocal and even if he hasn't had to make to many world class saves he's a part of the defence as a whole BTW has anyone ever seen him smile? He always seems to carry a look of grim determination verging on anger whenever i see him.
Agreed, it's a collective team effort and you start defending from the front, but the back four look like they've been playing together for years.
Fonte organises the back 4 as leader of the defence and the captain. Forster hasn't had much to do, but he's a quality keeper.
Too early to judge him yet as he has had bugger all to do with our miserly defense not letting anyone having pot shots at him.
Totally. Massive part of a keepers job, that. He's the one player who sees everything, and the best ones never shut the **** up.
Belief in the keeper is important. I'm sure the defenders have confidence in him, but they don't want him to actually touch the ball in case he gets hurt. Otherwise Davis will be in goal.
He's got 7 out 11 so far. Extrapolated across a season that's 24... (I'm loving my maths tonight). EDIT: I'm looking at this post and thinking the maths doesn't look right, anyone care to correct me?
we got 14 last season didn't we? I think Chelsea were top with 18. id like to think we could get at least 15, heart is saying 17 or 18!
The stats are even more impressive when you look at the games that our preferred back five (Fraser, Nat, Jose, Toby, Ryan) have played..... 8 games 2 goals conceded and 6 clean sheets.
Pretty sure the reason that the Leicester striker missed that 1 on 1 in the last few minutes was because Forster made him **** his pants.
It just seems that whenever someone in our half gets the ball, everyone presses and they end up being tackled pretty much straight away and it's really hard for the opposition to even get into our box, yet alone score.
