- 2nd in the league - +18 goal difference - Last 8 of the cup - Deserters not enjoying the same success as they did here - Club legends back in the fold - State of the art training ground just opened - Return of the stripes - A board who understand the fans and the club - Ambition from all people at all levels I just love being a Southampton fan.
Yeah, that I was hoping it was and thankfully it obviously was. Anyone who disrupts a minutes silence to remember fallen soldiers should be given a stadium ban. Sometimes a minute's silence turns into a minute's applause which is fine.
Just had an Exeter fan message me saying that Les Reed ought to be made 'Sir Les Reed' for what he's overseen since arriving at Saints. I often feel like Les is very quickly singled out for s**t, but rarely praised. So here goes... well done to Les.
"And now you're gonna believe us, the Saints are staying up".... That was very funny. A commentator worth his salt would mention that.
I am Delighted he is with us and doing a great job. We're lucky though, if the FA weren't such a bunch of muppets, he would still be working there and our only footballing joys may be watching an decent national side win something.
Les said (on the Staplewood opening day) that he had tried his system before without being able to carry it through. He is being given the right support here to try and achieve his dream.
Followed by "we're gonna win the league!" Reminded me of those hesitant, "don't let's jinx it" chants of "the Saints are going up!"

I would go as far as to say that that is the best Pelle's played. OK so he didn't ever quite look like scoring but as you say he held the ball really well, managed to get his body in the way of every long ball and created a lot of opportunities. Also, probably Wanyama's best ever game for Saints.
Pelle kept looking for the flick on or lay off because he was forced by a very tight Leicester defence to play most of the game with his back to goal. I thought he was superb today, and showed what a team player he is. Vic just gets better and better.
Watching Match Choice, Barry Horne was quick to pick up that dodgy offside decision in the first half, Pelle given off side when he was clearly behind the ball when it was passed, perhaps the lino was using a different rule book? Not a bad first half, some heroic defending by Leicester kept us out.
